Before a new Big 8 newsgroup can be created, an RFD (Request For Discussion) must be posted into the newsgroup news.announce.newgroups.
This is what I can find regarding creating a newsgroup in the Big 8.

What are some good game programming web sites, blogs, newsgroups, and podcasts? There is GameDev.net and the Game Development Algorithms list (gdalgorithms-list@lists.sourceforge.net). What other sites, blogs, etc have you found on game programming?

On the otherhand, there is a decent API , so it shouldn't be hard to write something yourself... .
Given that it is very difficult to import the history from one TFS repository into another, I suspect the import of other types of data will be just as hard .

So why do you want to get involved with answering other people's questions?
I do it mostly to improve my own skills because I will see things that I might run into myself down the road. In other words helping others helps me indirectly by improving my...

If I do:
(setq gnus-use-adaptive-scoring t)
The adaptive scoring works properly, but for all groups.
Then I tried this, but without success:
(setq gnus-parameters '(("mail\\..*" (gnus-use-adaptive-scoring nil)) ("gmane\\..*" (gnus-use-adaptive-scoring...

Perhaps your regexps don't match your group names? The above regexps... .
Well, it appears to work for me.

Interesting....
125 sounds like alot but, for some groups it's only a couple months .
A number of the servers will only deliver 125 million headers which means the largest group have a limited header range .
