I have the constant need to Google error messages to try to find out what they mean and what solutions people might have. Usually those error messages were posted in some newsgroup. Unfortunately, Google's results (even when it says "similar results removed...

If it is really a bee in your bonnet I'm afraid you are going to have to write some custom code to deal with this .
That will eliminate alot of duplicates.
Try using a google custom search like Dan Appleman's SearchDotNet first .

We're considering switching over to use TFS and the TFS Portal which is based on SharePoint. We've got existing information in various systems and it would be very advantageous if we could consolidate this information into the TFS Portal.

On the otherhand, there is a decent API , so it shouldn't be hard to write something yourself... .
Given that it is very difficult to import the history from one TFS repository into another, I suspect the import of other types of data will be just as hard .

That the newsgroup service was being discontinued as of October 25? The only "announcement" email unbelievably poor, and this decision to drop newsgroup access only adds further irritation.
