Backup Software

On Thu, 05 Nov 2009 13:24:33 GMT, "The Old Bloke" <...@XgmailX.com

I have been using Handy Backup for some years, but recently it has been
giving some bizarre results.

What I want is backup software that allows mw to select multiple folders and
do generic file backups. Acronis does most of this but saves in a
proprietary .tib format. I do use Acronis for system backups, but would
like a more generic backup for my data.

So I want simple folder backup, incremental, no compression, no encryption.
And I need to backup to a NAS. I don't need scheduling. A network-aware
xxcopy for Win 7 64 bit would be OK.

Regards
Doug

Great recommendations - I'm having problems with Vice Versa.
Is Karen's simple to set up? and will it copy only the newer
additions or
file modifications to the backup?

TIA

From the website:
Automatically backup files, directories, even entire drives! Karen's
Replicator copies selected files from one drive/folder to another.
Source and Destination folders can reside anywhere on your network.

Options include repeated copies at intervals as short as a few
minutes, or as long as several months, copy only files that have
changed, and the replication of folder and file deletions.

New features allow you to specify which files should not be copied,
and also which days a file should be skipped!

As for backup, I just don't keep anything serious on my HD at all. I save it
straight onto USB memory sticks.
On the other hand, I don't have much that is worth keeping as I am retired!
