Nope. I have not seen him in 25 years or so.
His girlfriend at the time of the Detroit production, a truly lovely
woman, just got in contact with me after all these years. That is
nicer than being buds with him

I saw Sonja Kristina Linwood last week, singing and playing some
acoustic guitar with Curved Air. She signed my CD booklets. She's
looking a bit plumper than when I last saw her, singing with Curved Air
in 1970, but not too much, and she's still looking good and singing
well.

OK, let's see, I saw one play in Detroit. Yep, got my program right here,
it says "The program for the Vest Pocket Theatre, October, 1970". It has
bios for the cast in the program, are you in there? I see that Mr Loaf is
in the cast, but not Diane keaton.
This is too exciting. Hair was such a defining part of that moment in
time, even for those of us in the audience.

Neat! I'll just read the first part: Gloria is blonde.
My first wife and I thought about attending an audition they were having
in Detroit around then. She was actually a singer, and I was, um,
enthusiastic. But we only played hippies on the weekends, we both had
respectable careers and the production they were casting was going on a
tour, Japan maybe? And we didn't go to Woodstock because we couldn't get
tickets and thought we couldn't get in. Looking back I feel like I was a
half-step out of synch. Sigh.
Anyway, it's a nice feeling to kinda know someone who was in Hair. If I ever
said anything mean to you, I take it back...

I've been lurking and posting here for nigh on to 10 years, and I
didn't know it either.
I never saw Hair back in the day, mostly because I never saw much live
theater at all. I did have the cast album, and the British cast
album, and the French, and the Japanese however.
Mostly I had forgotten all about it. Then one day the 25th (I think,
maybe 30th) anniversary tour was promoting itself on the CBS morning
news show. This pleasant-looking 50-ish woman was introduced and I
had no idea who whe was. Then, she opened her mouth to sing and out
came "Frank Mills" just as it was on the album. This got me interested
again. The tour was going to San Francisco, where I have relatives
nearby, and so we all went to see it. It was worth the trip.
Where did you sing "Eli's Coming?" I don't think that was in Hair.

these tidbits of past life and re-post them once in awhile.
That " pleasant-looking 50-ish woman " is likely the one standing

Nice picture. I see from my old program that you and several others were
cast as your own first names, Gloria played by Gloria G, etc. And you were
featured in several songs, yeah! So I obviously saw and heard you. Now if
only I could remember you. Crap, was it really 40 years ago?
Refresh my memory over one thing I noticed, why are there several people
listed for a few roles. For instance, it lists Mother as: you, Linda Deater
and Meat Loaf.
Did you ever do any other work in the theater?

There were three Mothers in that scene.
What I performed each night varied, as I covered a lot of parts. You
could have seen me doing most anything. I knew every single line and

Once I got to NY, that was an advantage in the cast. I could fill in a
moment's notice. I even got to play parts that were only played by
males. The part I covered most in NY was Sheila, the one who sings
"Easy to Be Hard. I went on at least 150 times. On the road, I played
the pregnant one, Jeannie.
Sure, I loved performing, but I hated the business. I didn't do much
more on Bway, though. I did more clubs and vocal work, though.
