Buh but but but..
Political analysts said the voting should ring some alarm bells for
Democrats looking ahead to the 2010 congressional elections next November,
when Americans vote their choice for each seat in the 435-member U.S. House
of Representatives and a third of the 100-member Senate.

Yeah?? I think if you look closely you'll see that the results were split
and that the Dems actually picked up another seat in Congress. Don't forget
the big Dem win in California. The most significant thing is the loss of the
ultra right wing CONservative trying to win the hearts and minds of the
republican party. Most republicans don't want to turn in the direction of
Glen Beck and Sarah Palin. That's where the wake-up call is!

They could have won nothing but a city council seat in Lincoln
Nebraska and the rightards would be crowing about what a huge defeat
for Obama it was.
One gay marriage referendum and two governor's races that were
expected, does not equal a loss of a Congressional seat (which seems
to have completely blindsided them, in a district that has always had
a Republican congressman since the Republican party has existed.)
Somehow that equals a problem for Obama? I'm not seeing it.

Corzine was very unpopular and has been for over a year.
His approval rating since mid-2008 has rarely exceeded 40%.
His defeat had nothing to do with Obama.

That's right. Keep deluding yourselves like I told you.
Good boy..
On the first anniversary of Barack Obama's presidential victory, Democratic
leaders today began an inquest into their election failures in two key
gubernatorial races, sifting through alarming poll data that showed the
independents that helped put him into power had deserted them in droves.
Equally depressing for the Democrats, other groups in the all-conquering
coalition that Obama built last year, in particular young voters and
African-American, failed to show up in large numbers on Tuesday.
The apparent inability of Obama to keep that coalition intact could be
ominous for next year's Congressional mid-term elections, when all House
seats will be up for grabs and a third of the Senate.
