Give it a rest. We all know the CBC is reporting from a War Zone
from one side. Of course their gonna put a plug in for Israel:
it's that or take their chances on the ground with Hamas.
I gotta say my respect for Hamas' political acumen has seriously
dropped over the last few months. Unless they've decided they
prefer Israeli occupation to encirclement those Kazzams make no
sense at all.

Ok, so we all know about how individuals under grave stress act in
irrational ways to alert others to some imminent problem they don't
understand.
Now consider Hamas' situation. In strictly material terms they
would be far better off as a part of Israel than with their own
micro-pseudo-state.
So they fire up the Kazzams, which inflict pretty much the maximum
terror with the minimum physical damage of any weapon since the
invention of bagpipes.
Contrast this with Israel's response. Did Hamas so misread their
opposition or are they so desperate that they don't care anymore?
Israel has pretty much got recognition from the Arabs of it's
"Right to Exist", but I see precious little attempt by Israel
to accommodate this new reality by figuring out how to _live_
with the neighbors instead of dying: it's like they are stuck
in 1949.
Jewish history largely records oppressions and injustices
suffered and this does not pre-dispose Israel to catch a
fair wind when it blows.

Thursday January 8, 2009. CBC radio's lead statement on World Report

SEVERAL PEOPLE.
TRUTH?
1) Within an hour of this news breaking, AlJazeera English TV (AJE)
reported two people were slightly wounded.
2) An hour after the CBC quote above, AJE reported the injuries as one
elderly woman running fell and injured her hip and an elderly man hit
by breaking glass.
3) Haaretz.com reports "two people lightly wounded and a number of
others suffering from shock"
It seems CBC jews are more interested in presenting jews as victims
than providing balanced information to Canadians.
Now if only we could overcome the Israeli occupation of our media, AJE
could be a choice for Canadians and help balance that information.

Al Jazeera is biased towards Hamas and is also propaganda.
Hamas is a collection of militants.
So why are Hamas firing rockets into Israel?
What about the soppy message from Hamas?
Israel does have the right to defend itself. Nothing new there.

Not so, schmuck.
That's a laugh riot. Send rockets into Israel because your own people are
starving and your leaders won't do anything
to attempt a peace accord. Nice try genius.
No it isn't. That line was given by some German leader in the 1930's.

I am sorry, but those from Israel are not militants, and the
Palestinians doing the fighting are not troops. Troops normally means
people in uniforms who receive a paycheck, and have a pension plan.
Militants mean people who devote themselves to a fight because they
believe the cause for which they are fighting to be a just one.
I see nothing wrong with those labels.

To provide a soverign nation for its citizens within the limitation of its
current borders.
The Palestinians have both Gaza and the West Bank. It's too bad that Hamas
wasn't smart and started building Gaza
into something that would be an economic and commercial centre for that part
of the Middle East. In other words, Gaza
could be a port of entry serving Jordan, Syria and Eastern Egypt, not to
mention a secondary port for Saudi Arabia, plus
Gaza could be something like Abu Dhabi with world class resorts and commerce
centres. A destination for vacations, and
for regional commerce.
Working with Israel, Gaza could be turned into something that would equate
the economic region of the UAE.
The West bank could be something too.
Too bad the supporters of Hamas continually get into this pity party of
refugees being held hostage and don't bother to
start the nation building on their own.

A little off the mark. Palestine (as it stands now) exists in both Gaza and
The West Bank. The Palestinian National Authority
exists in the West Bank, Hamas in Gaza. Ninety six countries recognise the
Palestinian state.
If the people who run the Palestinian government would start to be smart and
push off the militants who are firing rockets
into Israel and advocating suicide bombings, then things would be different.
They can start by filling in the smuggling tunnels, and turning over all
arms and entering into a peace accord with Israel
and be a little more considerate. To balance off, if Israel would more
accepting that would provide a means too.
If that happened then this nonsense would end soon.
Israel is not the "bad guy" in this latest battle. Hamas is and would be
much more useful to its citizens to stop the rockets
from going into Israel so that the Palestinian people can co-exist
co-operatively and peacefully with the citizens across the
border in Israel.
Forget the "End the Israeli invasion" crap.
Start the "End the nonsense and give a face slap to Hamas, now!"

The state of Palestine does NOT existe. No country can recognize the
Palestinian state since it does not existe. There is Palestinian
people, and there is Palestinian land, but there is no Palestinian
state. Would you care to name 6 of the 96 countries that recognize
the Palestinian state? I would be very surprised since neither Hamas,
nor the PLO say that there is a Palestinian state. Furthermore, the
CIA in its world book does not list Palestine at all.
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/index.html
But it does list Gaza and the West Bank as territories. Furthermore,
the UN does NOT list Palestine as a member state, as can be verified
by clicking in the link below

Wellwhy don't you stop supporting Hamas, a terrorist organisation? Hamas did
a fine job of taking out its opposition
The Fatah, and hasn't exactly done much to make Gaza and the West Bank a
nice place to live.
The fact remains that the Palestinian National Authority is recognised by 96
countries, and Palestine does exist since
it issues its own passports, vehicle registrations, etc. etc.

What planet do you live on? A tiny piece of land blocked of by land, sea,
and air is going to build an economy? Just how do you do that? Not to
mention blocked off from capital. There's more to Israel's pursuit of Hamas
than the rockets... the idea is to cripple what little economy they have to
make sure they will never be a self-sustaining economy. Keep them weak and
easy to control, that's Israel's goal.
We have a bunch of Con parrots in Ottawa, "we call for a cease fire, but
Israel has a right to defend itself, blah, blah." In other words, let them
