Secondly, what is it I can claim to do? I can claim to make someone
happy to talk with me. Maybe even more than happy, actually
enlightened in some small way. When can the troll ever convincing
claim the same and prove its relative worth to humanity? What magical
power can ever exceed such a goal?
As for role-playing, my children say I am wicked good at D&D and are
hesitant to play against me. Except for the oldest who has gotten
quite good. I offer it to them as good training at being able to
modify one's own reality through visualization and intent. They hate
it when I sneak in profound lessons into processes that are assumed to
be pure fun. But then again, they have learned not to let it spoil
the fun, and that may be the best lesson, one I continually learn from
them as well.
There is no such thing as "proof" in any of these matters, but it is
my position it is possible to share convincing tales. And to
recognize them for what they are. It is one of the worst failings of
the troll I refuse to name and barely deign to discuss. And it is a
point I do not expect that troll to ever understand as necessary to
successful human communication. That is one of the reasons I consider
the troll's condition to be the equivalent of pitifully incurable.
Stupidity can indeed be helped. Willful, hateful, ignorance cannot,
and deserves either the same in reply or silence. Some folk are just
a waste of a good incarnation cycle.

The bottom line here is that the superstitious, theatrical woo-woo

What these people are doing is role-playing. Wicca (et al) are
social clubs for people who want to be real
magicians but aren't willing to do the work involved.
It's Halloween all year around for them.
So they get together and pretend to believe that they are all
real magicians and blather pseudo-esoteric nonsense all day
long and buy some trinkets and memorize a few theatrical
rituals. It's all quite silly.
But there are a few neurotics who lose sight of the fact
that they are role-playing and start to actually believe
they are real magicians.

communication is subject to interpretation and is a matter of

Yes, and there are different ways of addressing problems, some active,
some more passive. It seems to me--and this is only my opinion, not
some higher wisdom or something--that it would be simpler to address
the problem of sid's energy vampirism by simply cutting off the supply
and blocking posts with "Evergreen," "Sidney," etc. in them, rather
than throwing more energy at the problem. That is, that *might* work
for those posters who *really* want sid to stop being a presence on
their monitors.
And for those who are having fun or feel there are lessons being
learned on both sides, that's all well and good too, and they are
certainly free to continue to do so. Obviously if sid felt he was
being harmed by the attention, he would have left long ago. But if
"sid" is some sort of chimera or doppelgänger and is not really the
one pulling the stings, the best laid plans of mice and men might
"gang agley."
I've pretty much stopped reading sid's posts altogether, and that
seems to work for ME, since I do still enjoy reading other people's
posts that respond to him. And if he happens to say anything
particularly interesting, I find out that way. I think eventually
everyone will find what works best for them, hopefully without
expecting other people to change in order to accommodate their
preferences.

There is no Catch-22 scenario here. Sidney thinks he is clever and
doesn't realize that his brains are being scrambled at this very

Well, since you are new here, I'll tell you. Lucid Dreaming isn't all
that spectacular. Anyone can do it by following online instructions.
It just takes a little persistence and patience.
A Chaos Magician is also not that spectacular. It just means that I
borrow from any religion or magickal system and tailor it to suit me.
We believe all that is required is a desire, clear visualization, and
achieving a unified state of non-awareness with the universal divine.
I haven't gone by the title of witch in a long time. I'm just a Wiccan
now. Names mean little. Actions mean a lot.
Astral Projection isn't so difficult once you learn to Lucid Dream.
As a Hermetic Magician, and that is a very general term for most
magicians -- we believe in Hermetic Principles which form the basis
for all magick these days. "As above -- so below." is a Hermetic
Principle.
It doesn't take an advanced magician to create his or her own system.
In fact, Wiccans encourage it. Every one of us has our own bible
called the Book of Shadows.
It is true I am a worshiper of Baphomet, and The Horned God of the
Woods, and the Moon Goddess, and just about a million other Gods.
Shape Shifting -- see Astral Projection and Lucid Dreaming. Now we are
getting into difficult magickal techniques.
Finally, Mentalism is just as important as any "advanced" magickal
spell. I mess with your head, because that is a part of my arsenal.
Telling you to go away while telling you to stay is in the textbook.

Poor ren. Lacking any of the magickal powers he wants everyone
to believe he has, he is forced to appeal to strangers to help
him get rid of that horrible man (me) who refuses to believe
ren has any magickal powers until he sees them demonstrated.
Been waiting for about 7 months now to see one scrap of
evidence that ren is anything but some guy sitting in
a room somewhere trying to make the world believe he's
a magickal adept with the help of google.
Notice that he is very careful to hide his identity
so that no one can discover the truth about him.
Apparently, he doesn't even know the truth about who he is
