Knock on wood, if things go as they appear to be headed, Detroit would face
the Ducks, and the Canucks would face the Hawks in the next round.

If I keep it up much longer, I'm going to have to call my doctor.

Has it been more than 4 hours ? Don't waste your time going to the doctor,
just use a heavy rubber band, or anything resembling one of those little
rubber triangle hammers doctors use to test reflexes, your kitchen drawer
might provide a substitute if you pound your meat to tenderize it.
Short, quick whack is all it takes.

Teams are re-seeded after every round so until all the series are
decided in round one, the teams don't know for sure who they will
play.

Go Canucks.

Actually teams aren't re-seeded after the first round. The Canucks
would still get the higher seed even if the Blackhawks, who had more
points, move on as well. The Canucks would get the Wings only if San
Jose manages to avoid another choke.

But it is not a fixed bracket tournament like the NCAA basketball
tournament for example. In the NHL playoffs Round 2 the highest
remaining seed from round 1 plays the lowest remaining seed and the
second highest remaining seed plays the third highest remaining seed.
The first and second highest remaining seeds have home ice for Round
2. I have frequently seen it called re-seeding.
