A couple of questions about Mac Word 2008 from a novice

On Sat, 7 Nov 2009 08:20:49 -0500, Gary <...@hotmail.com

I've used PC Word for a number of years and have recently changed over
to a Mac, running Office 2008. I have a couple of questions about
where to get some PC Word functions I used fropm time to time:

1- On the PC it was possible to ask to reduce the document by one page.
Any equivalent function on the Mac?

2- On the PC I could compare two versions of the same document. Any
equivalent function on the Mac?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Gary, Welcome to Mac & the newsgroup!

Basically the same as in most versions of PC Word: In Print Preview there is
a Shrink to Fit button on the toolbar. Also, in the Print dialog there is a
Copies & Pages list containing "Paper Handling" which provides a Scaling
feature that may be useful.

Yes, but it's a little more well disguised :-) In most PC versions there is
a "Merge & Compare" feature but the 2 are separate in Mac Word. Look in the
Tools menu itself for Merge Documents, but you'll find the Compare documents
feature in Tools
