is it possible to reset 2007 menubars to earlier style?

Due to the excessive surface area of the screen occupied by Office 2007 I
want to revert to the 2003 style. Is this possible?

Only with third-party add-ins.
Have you tried a) putting all your frequently-used commands on the QAT
and b) minimizing the ribbon?
