Surface Area Configuration argument out of the range

On Thu, 11 Sep 2008 17:42:00 -0700, SAC Not Working <SAC Not Work...@discussions.microsoft.com

Upgraded sql 2000 to 2005, in place upgrade. Installed SP2, when calling
Surface Area Conf. I get Specified argument was out of the range of valid
values. Parameter name: index (System.Windows.Forms). Have searched to no
avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I didn't meet this particular problem and don't have any idea why it occurs
but when I googled for this problem I got only one result which suits yours
and I just wanted you to know about it:

database engine.

Question, could it be that the master DB is still in 80 mode? this was "in
place" upgrade and sql does not change the more for master, it does for
model, msdb and tempdb. Those are 90...
