Re: Major Victory for USCF in Illinois

I find it amusing that the Sloon deprecated the dismissal of his most
recent nut case on procedural grounds (arguing that the court should
have addressed the "merits" of his argument despite what the law
said), yet he now trumpets a purely procedural ruling in the Illinois
case as a great victory. Of course, his comments suggest that he
hasn't actually read the decision, or else just didn't understand it.
What the judge said was that there were no grounds for removal of the
Illinois suit from state court to federal court. This is a good thing
in that it prevent further stalling, but it says nothing about how the
state court will eventually rule. The opinions of an obsessed stalker
and legal incompetent like Sloan are of no value to anyone.

I wonder if John K. Hillery has read the decision.

Have you read it?

It sets forth the USCF's case clearly. If Paul and Susan cannot refute
the allegations, they are probably toast.

Yes, Sam, I've read it. And, unlike you, I understood it. The _only_
ruling the judge made was that there were no grounds for removal to
Federal court. It was returned to state court to be heard on the
merits. I suppose I could quote it here to illustrate why your
comments are childish babble, but why bother? You still wouldn't
understand it.

Vote for sanity. Dump the Sloon in a landfill.

Sam,

Much like you, in Florida, we are dealing with someone who has chosen the
low road - an ex-President thrice removed from the FCA Board. He has
decided to offer to buy memberships (and votes) from the parents of his
students and participants of his tournaments by spreading lies about the
current Board. I have definite empathy in that the current lawsuit by
Polgar reflects exactly what she has to offer US Chess. If she felt
aggrieved, what is the greater good? To sue USCF for tons of bucks?

One thing we have come to realize in Florida as we have removed 4(!) Board
members - the President for election fraud, 2 members who were illegally
elected by the President, and one member for consistent personal attacks,
(no chads involved) is that those who have survived are in this for Florida
chess and Florida players/organizers/coaches/directors. It's been a rough
year here, but not one without learning. Someone who would sue the USCF has
already stated her position.

I haven't been following the complete story and unless there is clear
damages, I really don't care. I am willing to discuss a good argument.
