Hide claims he said this in jest. Many a true word said in jest.
Hide is fairly close to the money with his statement, problem for Hide is
that it was reported.

He did too!
That's funny. Key doesn't get the Taxpayer to fork out for his wife,
Rodders does get the taxpayer to fork out for his girlfriend.
Key is relaxed about it, apparently. He doesn't /need/ to do anything
to help Hide lose his fucking marbles and consign ACT to the dustbin.

I wonder if patricK and Rodney are one and the same.. the clue
being both moan that they are the workers and Key is the big boss.
Good thing he's a kindly boss.

Key lets Rodders take enough taxpayers' rope to hang himself with.
Smart move. No wonder Key is relaxed. He's taking it easy, he knows he
can rely on Rodney to take the d.i.y. way to oblivion. The fellow lost
his balls and his sense along with his blubber, he's no damn use to
anyone now. Doesn't even pay for his squeeze's travel out of his own
pocket! I wonder how long she'll stick around after the tax-payer
hand-outs run out.

Hide was stupid, but Key was worse - he stupidly told Ministers not to
do something, then aided and abetted them doing it, then has no
response when it gets found out. I suspect his minders didn't connect
the dots, and see that this makes his weakness obvious to everyone.
Hide must have known that he will not get back in his electorate next
time - only a small swing will tip him out and he has made sure it
will be a big personal swing against him. Key just looks like he
cannot manage a coalition.

You just want the Labour dictator back Rich. You don't understand people
having the choice of making stupid mistakes and sufering for them. This
would never have happened with Commissar Clark in control because the party
were to well programed and always marched in step to the cadence she gave
them. It's refreshing to see someone who's not into being a dogmatic Fuhrer
demanding that her word be followed to the letter.
As to Key not managing a coalition. Many Kiwis seem to be very happy with
his management. I find it refreshing after Labours constant intiferance in
everything.

He's managed it well only by giving them enough rope to hang themselves.
It'll be interesting to see the game of good cop / bad cop when things
start heating up on the foreshore and seabed. Unfettered right to
access doesn't mean there's any right retained to catch a fish or put a
shell in your pocket.
