One good thing Obama has done

On Thu, 06 Aug 2009 20:23:13 -0700, "Arlo-Payne" <...@hotmail.com

He really did not want to but:

He has awoken the silent majority.
Now he will pay the piper unless he changes his ways.
So far he is on a firm path to a one termer.

His rush to pass healthcare will be his downfall unless he starts to pay
attention to what the voters are saying.

The dems in general may pay the price soon. I was sure the dems would
hold congress for many years to come. Now I feel they might just blow it
next time the polls are open.

Also people driving clunkers were driving them for a reason.
What percent of the new cars purchased with the C4C program will end up in
the repo mans hands within the next year?

You're so deluded that it's pitiful to witness. But funny, too.

The stuff about the clunkers actually seems sound. But hard to bet on.
The rest of it? I don't know that the Republican Party isn't through
for good. But that may be too extreme.

Six months ago I would have said the same thing. But when you have
average folks with a high percentage of real votes (senior 86%) all
focused it could now cost the dems more than anyone could have ever
dreamed of.
I really feel if the election was today McCain would be the winner. It is
not a case of people just having hate they have a great amount of fear
when it comes to the health care bills and the Obama spending.

As far as the repo man I just see people driving clunkers because they
can't make car payments on their income and an older car is what is in
their price range. Also right now if all you can afford is $4000 for a
car it is going to be much harder to find one. So low income earners will
be hurt.

Also asking the rich to pay for everything is just nuts because we all
know it is not just the 1% rich but ALL tax payers that will feel it one
way or another.

Obama now considers a billion a small amount.

For any of that to happen, voters must be given an alternative candidate
better than Obama. You see the GOP offering up any? Obama is doing fine.
Even if he does worse, the GOP is in such a shambles he is virtually
guaranteed a second term unless something really unexpected happens.

Dick Cheney's working on it.

4 years is a long time no telling who might pop up. I would expect the
dems to take a hit at the state level if it stays the way it is right now.
In any case I want great things for America but all this spending has me
scared not for me but for my grandchildren.

Why don't you let them do the posts? I'd expect them to be a lot more
sincere.

Well that and the fact that people remember Obama, and the Democrats,
already jammed through the biggest spending bill in American history with
out even reading it. That was irresponsible, reprehensible and
demonstrates Obama's piss poor leadership.

You keep saying this as if not reading bills was somehow unusual. As
an alleged former business executive, you should know what an
Executive Summary is.

Sorry for butting in here, but hey, Mike -- did you vocalize any objections
when USA PATRIOT was passed?

Seriously, can you name a single Republican who read it?

Yes bucko, i know exactly what an Executive Summary is - I've written
enough of them. I also know that when a corporation is looking to sign
the biggest financial contract in its history, they damn sure read it
before they sign it. Now this next part may come as a surprise, but you
can not write an effective Executive Summary unless your have read the
document.

Obama and the Democrats passed the biggest spending bill in American
history, which contained more than 8,300 ear marks, and they didn't even
read it. That is irresponsible, that is reprehensible and that is piss
poor leadership on Obama's part. You can keep trying to rationalize it,
but thinking people aren't buying it.

Gee, now there's a blast from the past.
I had forgotten about the neocons.

It's a ray of hope if they are the ones that made the Repo majority in
Congress the drunken sailor spenders they turned out to be, and they
are now gone.

Unfortunately, I don't think they are gone.
They are still there, but they don't call themselves neocons any more.

They are what I would call the "David Frum" Repos.
His claim to fame is that he tells everyone that the Repos can't win
unless they are more "moderate", and not so Conservative.

Republican Lite, as it were.

I disagree.
I want a choice, not an echo.
