STEVE RITCHIE’S AUTOGRAPHED PINBALL MEMORABILIA FOR SALE

June 19 2009

Just got back from the Northwest Pinball and Gameroom Show in
Seattle. It was a great, fun, show. They had tons of pins and a
separate hall full of vintage videos. The people are cool and Pinball
is King in Seattle. The show was very well organized, and there was
new excitement every minute. It was one of the best if not THE BEST
show I have ever been to.

I really enjoyed hanging with everybody and playing as much as I
could. There were lots of games, in fact the hall was packed wall to
wall with tons of beautiful pinball machines.

The tournament was very well-attended, and a lot of my pin player
friends showed up to do damage. I had to leave before the tournament
was over.

I got to meet NBA great Todd McCullough, and found out what a great
guy he is. We talked for quite awhile. He is a bright guy, a
dedicated pinhead and now, my friend.

NOW THEN:

NEW STUFF. Along with my rare and cool pinball memorabilia, I now
offer new products, including:

(?) were manufactured from. Every layer has a nice color and the
results are stunning and technically appealing. Reasonably priced.

MINIATURE LASER-CUT LUCITE SPIDER-MAN AND T3 PLAYFIELDS !! These are
stunning. I am offering Spider-Man and T3 in ¼” thick Fluorescent
Blue Lucite, and they are incredibly detailed as a “player’s view”.
PV means that you don’t see the components on the bottom of the
playfield or hidden lines. You see what a person sees when viewing
the actual playfield from the top down.

Each playfield is 10.5 inches high by 4.5 inches wide, and the stand
components are about 4 inches by 1.5 and incorporate a “swoopy” design
that compliments the mini playfield. All my components are cut from ¼
inch thick high quality Lucite.

Using CNC Laser cutting technology, every detail of my player’s view
Spider-Man and T3 CAD designs are faithfully recreated in the Lucite.

Fluorescent colors really “light up” using ambient light to brightly
contrast etching and through-holes and all edges brilliantly.

The playfields are transparent and are a combination of Laser Cut and
Laser Etched methods of “machining” the Lucite. All the inserts (the
arrows, plastic circles, and rectangles inlaid in a real pinball
playfield) are through-cut, and the laser naturally FLAME POLISHES the
inner walls of these holes, and the outer edges of the playfields.
Laser etching carves lines into the top surface, so details like
individual screw heads and even Doc Ock’s arms are visible in great
detail.

The mini-playfields include the game title and my SRP logo etched into
the lower arch area. I have also designed in a signature window where
I can autograph each piece.

The mini playfields also come with two Lucite slide-on stand
components that allow them to be displayed on a desk or a table and
the details can be enjoyed at a comfortable 10 degree viewing angle.

I plan on producing all my game designs in Lucite, and may try other
sizes as well. The present run is produced in Transparent Fluorescent
Blue, but I may try other colors, and maybe clear. I also have Spider-
Man playfields in Fluorescent Red and Fluorescent Orange in stock for
immediate shipping. All others are about 1 week away.

Each Laser Cut Mini Playfield will be carefully padded, packed, and
shipped in a sturdy container.

I offer these at an introductory price of $75 including free shipping
in continental US. This is a limited introductory offer. I want to
know what colors are the most popular, and hear your suggestions.

Please let me know the Game Title and Color you desire, as well as
your name and address.

the Flash pinball theme!! It was painted with lots of red, yellow and
black inside and out. I ordered a delicious pizza and explained that
I designed the game, and they were embarrassed and fearful, but I told

I have found 8 more Rare Mother’s Pinball test reports, 6 from
1978-79, 2 from 1980 good condition, $40 + $6 SH Lists the top 16-20
pinballs in order of earnings. A rare piece of pinball history, these
sheets represent Mother’s Pinball in Mount Prospect, IL. Mother’s was
a player’s pin location, and all the pinball companies tested there
against every other company’s games. It was exciting to watch people
play there, and designers, programmers, and even Presidents from
Williams, Gottlieb, Bally and Stern would meet there to talk and check
out the competition’s new products.

The environment was friendly and Bill Herman, the owner, was great to
all of us. As soon as any of walked in, he would hand us a double
handful of red quarters to play all the latest games. The red quarter
system was great, because we could play anything we wanted as much as
we wanted and it wouldn’t distort the earnings report because they
weren’t counted in the cash box. I had up to 4 games in the top 20 at
one time. Longevity was also a major consideration. Pinball wouldn’t
be in trouble if they still earned like they did in those days.

LASER CUT SPIDER-MAN WEBBIES IN RED AND YELLOW LUCITE.

Dress up that drab Spider-Man or BSM with these hot new Lucite webs to
replace your boring clear ones.

The set of three includes a yellow one for the Sandman Web Slinger, a
red one for the Doc Ock Web Slinger, and a red replacement for the
clear web in the ball shooter lane.

The Webbies are Laser Cut and all the edges are brilliantly flame
polished. The pattern is beautiful and plays up attraction in the
ambient light on any SM or BSM playfield.

This is a limited introductory offer and I will sell sets of 3 for $35
and free shipping in CONUS. I want to hear what you think about
them.

Be careful not to over tighten the hardware while assembling them onto
your game. #5 hardware is recommended for attachment.

1 Excellent condition engineering blueprint of Airborne Avenger
featuring every part number on the game. Atari was the only company
doing this. It is crowded, but shows all components. Drawn in 1977
by Claude Fernandez using my playfield drawing. Yes, THAT Claude
Fernandez. I got him a job at Williams after we worked together at
Atari. This drawing is 44 inches X 37 inches and is folded. Probably
the only one in existence $100 + $15 SH.

1 Safecracker Token in great shape. $10 + $6 SH

$6 SH

gold, red, and silver $50 + $6 SH

1 French Pinball Tournament Lapel Pin in the shape of France, tri-
colored gold cloisonné enamel inscribed “Championnat De France” De
Flipper” and “1992” in mint condition. Roughly ¾” X ¾”. $50 + $6 SH

1 Absolutely Mint Pinball 2000 Lapel Pin. A nice elliptical shape,
and hard to find, about 1.25” X .5 “. $50 + $6 SH

1 Willy the Flipper Mouse Stickpin, silver, given to me by our German
distributor NOVA, Can be used as a tie tack or a lapel pin. Willy’s
head is about 1/2” X 3/8”. Long silver pin is about 1-3/4 inches
long. Beautiful. Maybe a little dangerous? Could double as a
weapon… $100 + $6 SH

Steve thanks for being so active here and for all the great games you
have designed over the years. I read one of your interviews where
you said you were thinking of writing a video game, I think it would
rock if you could get together with Eugene Jarvis and make a really
good action game, something that would bring back the feeling of the
classic Williams non-stop action games. Games that you would
literally work up a sweat playing.

only threw in a few saying "there wasn't room in the bag".

It's fun to tell me I'm wrong, isn't it? You are right, to a degree.
Did you get a BSM?

Steve, excuse me but I thought that you yourself participate in
capitalism, right? I mean, your business isn't a non-profit
organization, right? Sooooo.... there's a saying that goes "whatever the
market will bear". If Steve's prices are too high the market will bear
that out. In any case who are we to criticize? We vote with our dollars,
correct? Your last sentence seems less a critique on market pricing and
more of a personal attack, by the way. Hopefully not but it sure looks
that way.

That is kind of harsh don't you think.

A lot of collectors would love to have an autographed Steve Ritchie item.
And they don't all have the means to travel to a show or something to meet
Steve. So Steve's prices are a bargain to some that want his items.

I'm still trying to finagle an NBA game, or I'd be after some of his
souvenirs.

And personally, after all Steve has done for pinball. I hope he's making a
killing on selling personal items, or new ones autographed to the buyer any
way they like. LTG :)

None.

Were I to have some extra money that I didn't need for my business ( see the
finagle an NBA game ), I'd be going after one of those French lapel pins or
an autographed translite I could hang on the wall in my business.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood your question, how many flyers I've bought.

If you mean in general, I've never bought a flyer. I've gotten a lot of them
through the years. Some from distributors or collectors.

Stern sent me a box of assorted flyers and a 24 translite last March that I
used for prizes at the Midwest Gaming Classic. LTG :)

Little Williams pinball looking thing. Granted I don't have a lapel. I just
thought it was a neat souvenir from the man - Steve Ritchie - and a memory
from a happier time and place with Williams. LTG :)

Your the BEST Steve.

He was at our show last weekend and made himself available for anyone
that wanted to talk or play a game of pinball with. I have dozens of
emails with people telling how cool it was just to play a game of
pinball with Steve Ritchie. They were so excited. He also had a little
table at the entrance of the show and he introduced himself to
everyone. It was great. Steve spoke at the show last year but this
year he just came up to hang out. I had a great dinner with him,
Dennis Nordman and Greg Freres, Gary Flowers and Jay Stafford. Just
talking about the their lives and pinball, it was allot of fun. All of
these hung out and sign autographes and talked to whom ever came up to
them the whole weekend. This is a great hobby and it has allot of
super nice people who will go out of there way to help you out or just
talk piniball. I look forward to seeing them all again when I can talk
more with them instead of running a show. I want to thank them all for
coming out to Seattle and hanging with us.

Till next time,
Bret Fritch

Hey Bret,

Thanks for handling my table while I was listening to my long winded-
friends :<)) in the speaker hall. The NWP&GS was a great show, and I
will try to make it next year. I know what you mean about "missing
the show". We were kind of stuck with our duties, but it was still
lots of fun greeting people and playing when I could.

I enjoyed sitting next to you at the entrance of the pinball hall, and
our conversation at dinner. I could see that you guys were super busy
making the show great and it was.

The entire crew of the NWP&GS are a bunch of great people. I kind of
regret not being able to hang with Brian Cady a little more, but we
were both so busy (him more than me) and moving around, that we hardly
played pinball together at all. He has helped me greatly in my job
search and with several other things that I am very grateful for.

Thanks for inviting me.

I was at the show again this year, got to talk to Steve, Dennis
Nordman and Greg Freres, it was such a pleasure! They have genuine
interest in how their work has become our hobby, and I think it is
very gratifying to them how much we care.

I just finished framing the autographed 24 autocad drawing that I got,
and it looks amazing, even my wife thought it looked neat!!! Can't
wait for the MM translite to arrive ;-)
