Dear Will,
I am working on his ancestry and have quite a lot by now----a lot, but
even
more missing (sigh) A certain amount of his ancvestry will be visible on
genealogics by the end of the week, but after I sent the update a _lot_
more
has been added.
His ancerstry is pretty marvellous, I think.
I will send you a list with only names of his "interesting" ancestors.
With best wishes

From Sire's book plate XXIII. The sixteen quarteres of
nobililty....Andrew Bertie:
Andrew bertie
|
James Bertie = Lady Joan Crighton-Stuart
|
7th Earl of Abingdon = Guendolyne dormer 4th Marquess of Bute =
Augusta Bellingham
|
6th Earl of Abingdon = Vernon Harcourt Sir James Dormer = Ella
Alison 3rd Marquess of Butte = Guendolyn Howard Alan Bellingham
4th Bt. = Constance Noel
the 4th generation with 16 quarters is soo small i would need a big
magnifying glass to read it as my book is fading...but i seem to
recall someone has posted this pedigree to the web years ago - at
anyrate bertie's ancestry is amazing - considering that in that 4th
generation i can make out several more marquesses, earls and of course
the Duke of Norfolk.
