Bill O'Reilly Plays The Victim

Bill O'Reilly Plays The Victim In Abortion Doctor Murder
Reported by Ellen -
Bill O'Reilly spent much of his show last night (6/1/09) discussing the
murder of abortion provider Dr. George Tiller. Instead of expressing remorse
for the horrible circumstances - Tiller was shot dead while ushering at
church, in front of his wife - or remorse for his own relentless
vilification of Tiller or even discussing the role of vigilantism in the
abortion controversy, Bill O'Reilly made the tragedy all about him, how he's
being unfairly scapegoated in the controversy. And in an apparent effort to
justify his past harangues, O'Reilly continued lashing out at Tiller. With
video.

O'Reilly started his show as usual with his Talking Points Memo. He began by
saying perfunctorily that "clear-thinking Americans should condemn the
murder of late-term abortionist Tiller" noting that Tiller's actions were
"within Kansas law."

But O'Reilly came to life as he said that the Washington Times estimated
Tiller "destroyed about 60 THOUSAND (his emphasis) fetuses." O'Reilly
repeated, "60,000" then added that Tiller earned more than a million dollars
a year. O'Reilly also happened to mention how Tiller had been "nicknamed
"the Baby Killer" by pro-life groups." Real classy, Bill.

As O'Reilly told it, when he heard the news about Tiller's murder, he
thought of himself - not how his hate-mongering might have contributed to a
climate of extremism, not how maybe he might reconsider the use of inflamed
rhetoric. No, O'Reilly thought about the bad news for him. "When I heard
about Tiller's murder, I knew pro-abortion zealots and Fox News haters would
attempt to blame us for the crime and that is exactly what has happened." So
what did this "blame" consist of? Helen Kennedy in the NY Daily News called
"my reporting on (Tiller) 'rants.'"

I don't know about you, but when somebody says the kinds of things O'Reilly
said, "rant" seems an entirely reasonable, albeit mild description. For
example, O'Reilly has said about Tiller, "If we as a society allow an
undefined mental health exception in late-term abortions, then babies can be
killed for almost any reason... This is the kind of stuff that happened in
Mao's China and Hitler's Germany and Stalin's Soviet Union... If we allow
this, America will no longer be a noble nation... If we allow Dr. George
Tiller and his acolytes to continue, we can no longer pass judgment on any
behavior by anybody.

What Tiller is doing is that bad."

O'Reilly also said, "I wanted a big show. I wanted George Tiller, the baby
killer yelling 'yay. I want to to make more money killing babies.'"

Those are just two of many inflammatory statements - or rants - that
O'Reilly has uttered on his show about Dr. Tiller.

O'Reilly went on to complain about Mary Mapes, who wrote on the Huffington
Post, "I can already envision the backpedaling and rationalizing that we'll
hear from longtime Tiller critic Bill O'Reilly."

"No backpedaling here, Madam," O'Reilly said. "Every single thing we said
about Tiller was true. My analysis was based on those facts."

Then it was time to attack Daily Kos' Markos Moulitsas, Number 3 on
O'Reilly's Worst Liberals list. "Who'll be the next target of O'Reilly's and
Beck's ire to get gunned down by a domestic conservative terrorist?"
Moulitsas asked. O'Reilly's answer? That Kos was bashing him right above an
ad for an upcoming interview with Bill Ayers.

"The far left is exploiting, exploiting the death of the doctor" because,
according to O'Reilly, they want to "stifle ANY criticism of people like
Tiller. That, and hating Fox News is the real agenda here."

Instead of a fair and balanced debate, O'Reilly brought on a slew of
like-minded guests to agree that he's being wronged. First up, attorney
Brian Russell, who was classless enough to quickly suggest that Tiller was
guilty despite having been recently acquitted of performing illegal
abortions. Russell quickly delivered a "not guilty" verdict about O'Reilly,
though. Then, perhaps angling for a future spot on Fox, Russell went on to
gratuitously attack Barack Obama and, for the piece de resistance, compare
the liberals who are criticizing O'Reilly to Tiller's murderer. Co-panelist
Kris Kobach agreed.

Next up, two Fox News employees who - Surprise! Surprise! - each took
O'Reilly's side.

"So here we go again," O'Reilly said to Juan Williams. "You know - (I'm) in
the middle of a national controversy simply for basically telling the truth
about Dr. Tiller, who he was, what he did."

Williams wasted no time jumping on the bandwagon. "There are people for
abortion rights who are going to try to use this (as) a political tool to
beat people up, to make them feel guilty," he said. "...I know you,
O'Reilly, what you did was, you said it bothered you personally." Actually,
Juan, what O'Reilly did was to repeatedly refer to Tiller as "the baby
killer." O'Reilly also sent his producer to ambush Tiller. Tiller obviously
felt harassed and called 911 to say he was being prevented from getting into
his car. (video below)

Williams continued, "Bill O'Reilly, I never heard you say 'Block a
clinic'... I never heard you say 'Go after the doctors,' you know, berate
them... Never!" No, O'Reilly just sat in his comfy chair spewing epithets at
Dr. Tiller and when trouble came along, began howling that it was no fair to
blame him.

Mary Katherine Ham agreed with Williams, of course, and accused the O'Reilly
critics of using the same inflammatory rhetoric when "talking about, for
instance, the interrogation methods that our CIA operatives use." "Liberal"
Williams didn't point out that there's a big difference between excoriating
interrogation methods and the kind of personally-directed attacks that
O'Reilly made.

O'Reilly perked up at Ham's analogy, saying that if a CIA agent is
assassinated somewhere, they could blame it on the liberal critics. And
there's not a doubt in my mind that he'd do just that.

Referring again to the number of abortions allegedy performed by Tiller,
O'Reilly said, "60,000" and said, "I mean, just, just think about that."

On his Culture Warrior segment, O'Reilly repeated his statement that the
first thing that crossed his mind after the shooting was that he'd get
blamed.

Seriously, O'Reilly should be arrested as an accessory before murder. He
should be tried alongside the domestic terrorist assassin that killed Dr
Tiller.

You cannot continue to make the sort of inflammatory remarks he's made with
the podium he has and not expect them to be taken seriously by SOMEONE. As
an ex-pat from the UK I find it all but impossible to believe how much these
people can spew bile and still call it "freedom of speech". This would
simply NOT be allowed on a broadcast network in the UK, at any time let
alone prime time. Nor would Glenn Beck or Shaun Hannity be allowed their
blatent distortions and lies.

Blaming everything on liberals? Fine, here's a not so liberal viewpoint:
O'Reilly, Beck and Hannity from Fox and Limbaugh from radio need banning
from the airwaves for attempting to incite hatred. Strange how all of these
people suddenly become liberal when it comes to contesting their right to
spout utter crap and hatred on the air - they'd be the first to start
screaming about censorship if they were removed.

No, he really didn't. He stated that vigilantism was wrong because it
damaged society and then went on to talk about all the abortions
Tiller did and how much much money he made and how there aren't many
places that do late term abortions left and it shouldn't be medically
necessary any more. He made it clear that...although he was opposed
to breaking the law...as far as he was concerned the world was a
better place without Tiller in it.

How is your idiot ilk's oil boycott going, by the way?

You can boycott Fox for the wothless life of one mass murdering baby
killer, but you don't dare boycott oil over the 3000 real American
patriots you falsely claim died solely for it. It's pretty obvious the
left doesn't give a shit about them and never did.

Leftwingers are easily the dumbest animals on the planet.

Have a nice day.
