Can anyone tell me why in some races there is 1/4 the odds for 3 placings and 1/5 the odds for 3 placings?
I thought it was always 1/4 the odds for a place?

I like the odds of 2.
The bigger odds are from 5 up.
That is not a very big odd.

As for on course books displaying 1/6 the odds etc I would guess that some are cowboys but then some would or 1/8 the odds....
That offering one-third odds or one-half lost them money and offering one-sixth or one-seventh didn't tempt.

Edit: I believe the payout for the odds bet is commensurate with the actual probability.
Supposed to win your bet, not twice your bet.

1/65, 1/64, 1/63 :)
1st Place - 1/65
2nd Place - 1/64
3rd Place - 1/63
