Since Mr.0 posted an odds thread without any odds, I thought I would update the SFA community with the pre-season TAB SPORTSBET ODDS:
Premiership:
Hawks: $4.20
Bombers: $4.80
Furies: $6
Roys: $8.20
Demons: $13
Dragons: $18
Wonders: $21
Gumbies: $501

I like the Wonders odds though $100 year's minor premiers and preliminary....
$1.01
No $20 This has Heath Shaw written all over.
Thread already fails without Jaimee Rogers end?
Yes.
Except the last one, of course...
At the odds you've posted.

My brother turns 21 in a couple of weeks and my parents and I are taking him to Las Vegas. For my 21st, I brought $200 to gamble in Vegas and came home with around $450, mostly from playing craps. I plan on bringing $200 again for this trip and before...

You are twice as likely to roll 7 (lose your odds) than 10, so; else if (cash < bet_k) return false....
Edit: I believe the payout for the odds bet is commensurate with the actual probability.
Supposed to win your bet, not twice your bet.

If I had a program, on a computer, and that program operated a competition (pool) that has 65 participants, what are the odds of winning 1st, 2nd, 3rd place?
Thanks!

You cannot win all 3..
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place are mutually exclusive.
1/65, 1/64, 1/63 :)
1st Place - 1/65
2nd Place - 1/64
3rd Place - 1/63
As each person finishes, the field gets one person smaller.. .
1/65, 1/65, 1/65.

I want to truncate an md5 hash to about half size. How much does that increase the odds of collisions? if I'm dealing with around 500 000 generations, should I be worried about a collision? what about 1m generations.

Following the table posted on the above link, assuming....
The fact is that the more entries you push in, the higher the chances to have a collision .
There's an interesting mathematical problem called the birthday problem that deals with that kind of situation .

I'm running a contest on a website and I have 3215 entrants who are eligible for 5x Sony PSPs.
I believe the formula to count the odds is totalEntrants - prizes / prizes:
(3215-5)/5 = 642 so that's an odds of 642 to 1 of winning - is that right? ( I suck...

E.g., if we have 2 entrants and one prize....
:)
Winning odds are totalEntrants / prizes
There is no need to reduce the number of prizes.
Five people can win, there are 3215 entrants, so the odds of winning are 3215 รท 5 times.
That's right.

P(Any) = (1/2) * (360/400) = 9/20 P(Car) = (1/2) * (1/400) = 1/800
Chance of your player scoring = x Chance of selecting opening key = 8/16 = 1/2 Chance of selecting prize envelope = 360/400 = 9/10... .
This isn't the right place for this question, but...

Odds please Can some of our regular gamblers give me the odds on a 3-1 hibs win on some of the gambling websites. I'm only on PaddyPower and their odds are 25/1. Don't want to sign up for any more sites unless the odds are better. Cheers.
