I haven't used a mousepad for the ....
Some surfaces are too reflective and/or even for an optical mouse to work well; in which case find for optical mice, simply because it greatly reduces wear on the table surface and dirt collected mice.

Optical drive can have large block sizes compared to hard drives in mind, that modern optical drives....

Optical is going from humidity and temperature.
As long as it isn't scratched or broken during that time.. .
It should survive the varying temps and humidity the best for long-term storage .
I'd go with the Optical Media.
I have backups of files archived in optical media (CDs and DVDs). These all have par2 recovery files, stored on separate media. Even in cases where there are no par2 files, minor errors when reading on one optical drive can be read fine on another drive...

I still get this message....

Power-cycling the cable modem causes it to forget the MAC its seen so that I can use it with another system .
My home cable modem does this and once it's seen a MAC, it won't respond to any other MAC .
Couple things come to mind: MAC address learning.

On the receiving end, this optical electrical in nature, acts like....
