I have an address book/calendar from my old Palm-based smart phone stored in Palm Desktop on my Windows box. Does anybody have suggestions about how I could go about getting the data onto my Mac/iPhone?

Congigure iTunes to sync calendars....
Another method to do this is to get your palm to sync your palm app.
If you can import from Palm Desktop to the system Address Book, then you can just sync that to your to the iphone from that as well.

Maybe you want to develop for the new Pre, then you might want Palm.
But Palm OS Programming was good for its time.
There are no up to date books on PalmOS, because the OS hasn't changed in years .

The published code for Palm OS applications doesn't include standard headers, but instead uses Palm OS APIs for things like StrCopy and MemMove. Can I use standard headers and functions or do I need to convert my code to use the Palm OS versions?

From a program size point....
In CW for Palm OS V9, there's a pretty full version libraries for your targets.
Palm OS APIs, you'll probably work better on the platform, but both CodeWarrior and prc-tools had some library functions implemented.
Does anyone have experience with using a good quality IDE for Palm OS? In particular I'm looking for the ability to compile small non-colour .prc files for roll out to older Palm III models (8MB).

The large application icons are 32x22 (low-density) and 64x44....
The high-density format has a size of 20 x 18 .
If you are talking about icons and icon sets used in your application, the original low-density format had a size of 10 x 9 (width x height) .
