A quick search gave me this announcement of Parrot DBDI from January 2004 and a dbdi-dev mailing list which appears to be long dead. Is Parrot DBDI still being developed? Is anyone working on a different database API or interface for Parrot?

That has been resolved with those in place we can start work .
The project stalled, due to Parrot not having key functionality at the time.
The DBI C and Perl base class code into Parrot PIR, or a suitable language that generates PIR.

To expand on @Reed and point out some highlights, Parrot's opcodes are at a far higher level than registers are integers, numbers....
The main advantage Parrot has over that.

Think Java and its virtual machine, except that Java is (at the moment) more geared towards static languages, and Parrot recommended.
Parrot is a bytecode interpreter (possibly with a JIT at a future stage).

I think the parrot i have is a green parrot (at least its color is green/yellow/red)...today it has been making a sneezing like sound. i havent seen discharge, etc should i be concerned?
