Dedicated PDA's seem to have disappeared. Last time I saw one was about 5 or 6 years back. Has the smart phone killed them off?

Another sign of their death would be the big carrying a separate PDA and cell....
So yes, the classic PDA is pretty much history: every new PDA is a mobile phone as well.
Are Personal Digital Assistents or PDAs but also mobile phones .

I have an application for PDAs with a long running process, and I'm getting the problem that the PDA is going to sleep before the process has completed.
I haven't got any control over the power settings on the PDA, does anyone know a good way for my application...

For an example in C++, look here:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/246....
Then you need to call it on a regular basis from within your application .
You need to make a function that calls SystemIdleTimerReset, SHIdleTimerReset and simulates a key touch .

In windows mobile PDA app is there anyway to show a form full screen, no other PDA system menus, just our form on top in fullscreen and make the user no exit from the form (there will be an exit button in form , they can exit through that) , Like locking...

See this question for detailed....
If this is at bootup, try using a console app .
Setting the WindowState to Maximized will make the form visually cover the full screen, but will not prevent the user to leave the screen using hardware buttons on the device .

Your question, I would say the PDA applies to both instances, it would have been, a few years back, that the PDA was exclusively a PocketPC.

A customer's users are using PDAs (HP iPAQ, different models) with a CRM-Tool on it.
If the application and database need to be reinstalled there are some files in different folders on the PDA which need to be deleted first.
Usually I need to pick and...

I have an old Dell Axim PDA that I need to securely erase . Preferably the device should be workable after erasing, but if there's no other possibility I'm willing to "brick" the device to securely wipe it as a last resort.
Any help/ideas would be greatly...

Maybe a USB version of the old standby,....
When I worked in a high security environment, we used SecuWipe from Aiko Solutions .
I am unsure if pressing the reboot button actually deletes any data - even though it will not be easily recoverable by anyone .

Hi,
I'm trying to write part of a J2ME application and I'm responsible for reading NMEA data from a GPS device attached via bluetooth (to a Dell Axim X51 PDA).
I've paired the gps device with the PDA and I can run the sample program that comes with the...

Don't know....
It could be worth comparing the result of the system property call on other (recent) handsets .
I would suggest confirming that first.
There is a good chance the j2me implementation on your device doesn't support bluetooth COM ports at all .

I realize that your question is directly "are there tools to do the automated testing on CE", but have you considered perhaps aiming your automation at a version of the app which can be accessed... .
