Some of you may know I recently rebuilt the transmission on my 300SDL. My only issue now is that the shifts are way too smooth. I am a little confused on the adjustment procedure. I have found a few links for proper adjustment but I am not sure...

I have to admit I laughed when I read that,
but if by "too smooth" you meant "slushbox" then that's an entirely different matter .

Have the wife drive a long way home (20 miles?) three days a week .
It's worse in cold climates, too.
Short trips is the worst thing you can do to any car, new or old .

When cold, runs only for a mile or so, and when around 60-80F, it won't, engine revs, no power, no gears, howling noise increases with rpm. Turn off, and wait for getting it cold to 20-25F, runs around 1-2 miles again and then same...no movement.... Getting...

You are correct there are some issues with the voltage, however you really need to have the transmission codes read! Additionally, a howling sound typically leads to a bad torque converter .
