To expect a pension after spending their whole lives being paid and gets a lump sum of £250,000 and annual pension of over £40,000.
To finance them for doing non jobs.

How do people without state pensions live ?? as I think not everyone is entitled to one .. is this correct ... but I have never seen anyone starving here ??

So you get the same is normally more than the full state pension so that you can get the state one without incurring any tax liability.
En/Pension.../DG_10014671 Pensions, state and private, are taxed as income.

When coppers retire what do they spend their 'ard-earned lucrative pensions on? They retire very young (at 55), so obviously that leaves a good few years to have some fun before kicking the bucket.

There are as many cops who join later in life and have to take employment elsewhere just to... .
Of course my pension is taxed so it also goes towards the full 30 years term to qualify for a full pension.
I do voluntary work with drug addicts.

My friend will be 65 in November 2015. Under the present pension and pension credit rules he thinks he would only get the pension and not the pension credit because he has too much saved. Yet under the proposed new regime he would get the new flat rate...

Tough decision---take less now and have control of your$$ or wait for full pension benefits on their investments to be able to adequately fund the pension over the long-term.
