The proper way would be another hardware profile but that's not really about 'cenvenience' :)
i'm using this method to experiment with different drivers or service configurations, but of course switching profiles requires restart .

You are correct though, with some setups....
They are there to ensure a tight fight of the components .
Your talking about the metal spring spokes on the motherboard faceplate around the edges .

Have you tried windows updates and did that work?
Try the following
Broadcomm Widcomm drivers - http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetoot.. .
Where did you get it from? ask them if they know the website so you might be able to find drivers .
