You are highly unlikely to ever get permanent residence in EU.
Then citizens of other EU countries.

Supposedly, in Sweden, the Netherlands and probably some other countries, you don't actually have to marry a citizen to get a permanent residence visa (like a U.S. "green card" or British "indefinite leave to remain") - you merely have to be living together...

Hmmmm, do you you didn't have to get married when applying a residence permit for a foreign (= non-EU) partner since.
For another 9 months until their girlfriends received a temporary residence permit.
