Importance of the personal statement for SMP?
I am in the process of applying to a few of the SMP programs in the country. Since I haven't done an AMCAS app, I don't really have a personal statement. Do you think the personal statement for SMP programs is a critical component of my application, like it is for AMCAS?

Statements - do I still need to keep them?
Filing cabinet for hard copies, organised by year and organisation. After 7 years they get scanned and stored as searchable PDF's and the originals shredded .

Why attack me and my children in the victim impact statement?
Yeah, they can find out anyone's address, any civil judgements, tax liens, etc. There are a lot of different ways and that stuff is public information. Just try not to get caught up in it or let them intimidate you. I wish you and your family the best and hope your husband gets to come home soon.

Why did the FAA Destroy Tape of 9-11 Controllers' Statements?
What I see on the record is that an FAA manager destroyed a tape -- purportedly and plausibly in an attempt to comply with union rules -- and the DoT inspector general issued a rebuke, and also the FAA took some unspecified disciplinary action against the manager. I don't know the party affiliation or political loyalties of any of these people.
