How come it is that Fish and Reptiles are so interesting/addicting to Humans that we must keep them as Pets? It's like every time you have to go to a pet store or fish or reptile shop, your bound to come across some Reptiles and/or Fish and it so entertained...

Is nothing on the time it takes to keep most other pets, and most people don't give e tanks nearly that they are cheap to replace and most people don't get attached to them like wi mammal pets would also.

I tried to do a good deed and purchased a small turtle for my 7yo niece. My girl and I bring it over to my sisters house and the kid loves it. My sister looks at the paperwork that came along with it and it says that the turtle carries salmonella, WTF...

I just wanted to see everyone's answer to this question-which do you prefer, keeping reptiles or tarantulas? While tarantulas are even more fascinating than reptiles, I prefer reptiles because I've gotten more happiness out of keeping reptiles than tarantulas...
