I am a 46 year-old who had a Verisyse lens implanted two weeks ago in my right eye (-13.00D, 6mm). I immediately noticed starbursts and edge glare the first night and it hasn't improved. Day vision is okay and about the same as my pre-op contact...

The optics of the Verisyse phakic intraocular lens (P-IOL) are not larger enough go straight to Epi-Lasik rather than the repositioning first, or a different type of phakic IOL to remove the phakic IOL early.

Only you can make that decision after thorough discussion with your child's eye surgeons. You can always get a second opinion. And FYI it's "aphakic" glaucoma. That means without the natural lens. Phakic means with the natural lens.

Dont get surgery that isn't Navy approved.
You can apply but don't be surprised if you are not accepted .
They do make exceptions but you are, on average, 25% over the allowable limit .

I've heard that people can have eye irritation to the dry air in the OR. I'm considering getting LASIK before starting residency and am curious if anyone who has LASIK has any problems spending considerable time in the OR? Any thoughts on LASIK before...
