Hi ,
I am having problem about the Photodiode.
I don't know how to operate a set of "Transmitter LED" and "Receiver Photodiode". Is it possible in Multisim ?
I think photodiode symbol has its arrow pointing towards it But in Multisim the arrow point is...

Hi,
Multisim doesn't have a photodiode, the one found in the "Rated" family was incorrectly called photodiode but it's a LED.

I am trying to use a LM339 as a comparator.
as you can see,D - is the photodiode to the non-inverting terminal(will make a LED shine onto the photodiode) .I want to figure out what values i can give to the variable resistors R4 and R5 ?
Thank...

Forward biasing a photodiode by an external resistor is probably the worst way to operate.

It has a photodiode in it.

With an external photodiode you at least have a good idea of eth
photodiode responsivity, and can work out rough calibration.
photodiode will look at a tap
of the power coming from the backfacet.

I've built plenty of these things. The output is -I*Rf. Because of the sign reversal, you have to use + and - supplies. The fact that removal of the diode really suggests to me that your using a single supply. What is the power supply your using for the...

I posted, that is what the author has done, except he used an LED, I have a IR photodiode and it worked is that the photodiode produces a current that is then pulled through the feedback resistor and pushed of the diode, I get 4.4 to 4.....

Hi everyone
I have been googling this for several days and it is driving me crazy...
I want to recover 1kHz-10kHz signal from a photo-diode. The signal is very small comparing with the DC part (180nA Ip-p/ 5.4uA Ip-p).
The current plan is to amplify the...

Will it pass through capacitor between the photodiode....
Will it pass through the Capacitor C2 which is connected part of the current generated by photodiode is very small actually(5.4uA).
By photodiode is very small actually(5.4uA).

No photodiode will work at these power levels.
there is a very very good chance you would permanently damage the diode.
For small area diodes they start to go nonlinear at asomewhere between...
