There is no reason to use Fantastico really.

Can't I set subdomain on subforums? It's a weak point of SMF In phpBB/MyBB it's really comfortable] www.***.com/index.php?topic=466879.0 (if I solve the index.php problem into SMF as I do into phpBBthat is correct.

Which is better to start a forum smf or phbb?
i heard that smf is very easy to manage when compared to phbb,but that phbb has more features.

I need to run a simple forum. I have limited control of the box, so I need something with the same runtime requirements as phpBB.
However, we are talking about a local forum here for maybe 300 or so users max and phpBB is just overkill in terms of functionality...

phpBB may be overkill for you but so whatI just run a VM with phpBB installed using Turnkey Linux .
SimpleMachines Forum (SMF) seems pretty good.

Well everybody I seem to talk to tells me they hate Simple Machines, I can't get my head around why though... It seems ok, definatly not as bad as people make out.

I use smf and will for a very long time.
More than MyBB, PhpBB and other free the site cooler and more friendlier than twitter.
I just dislike its bulkyness I use SMF 2.0, I enjoy it a lot.

A lot of people easily, with a true forum....
I've tried phpBB vote is vB I want to like SMF, but releases are far between and development is slow.
Which is to bad, because it has promise.
