Soooo i took the missus car out thursday morning and came home on one of these.
Problem being a snapped cambelt.(New belt and tensioners replaced in september btw)
Anyway heres the outcome of that!

The rings can get trapped between ring lands due to valves hitting pistons shift.
For leakage and there is none.

At full to have some quality valves....
I think the aluminum/brass may be contracting faster after shut-down than the steel valves.
'nother thing: when you had the valves out for cleaning, did you check their side.
New pushrod tubes.

Like most here, I had the symptoms of a blown cam chain tensioner gasket and valve cover gasket. I just got done replacing those items. Now I'm working on replacing the purge valve (aka suction pump) and the 1-way check valve that should be replaced:

From new the kit valve never shut completely resulting in a flamable mess. I've solved the problem adequately using a golf tee, (after replacing the rock hard clear gas line with real neoprene), thinking I'd find an affordable replacement in due course...
