I just started using GNU Emacs as my text editor and I am concerned about getting afflicted with " Emacs Pinky " by having to constantly press the control key with my pinky finger as is required when using Emacs. How can I avoid potentially getting this...

My understanding is that on more ergonomic keyboards the control belongs in the west position and the west... .
Remap Left-Ctrl and Caps-Lock so key instead of my pinky fingers.
The side of my left hand (below the pinky) to hit the Ctrl key.

I know this sounds weird, but I'm curious how many of you have a bent pinky finger that won't properly extend. I ask because something called Camptodactyly (pinky finger that won't properly extend) has been correlated with a mutation of the NOD2 gene ...

I cannot point first joints and bend the top joint on my 1st and 2nd fingers on each hand .
However, My big toe is permanently turned up.
I have NOD2 and my pinky is straight.

Got it back again but it's a 3 hour.

I've noticed that I tend to anchor my pinky on my pick guard. Is that bad form or does it really matter? I've searched around and couldn't really find a good answer, so I'm guessing it's just personal preference?

It is very disappointing.
