I just need to make sure, do you pick the bigger pins first?
You pick the pins that bind when you place torque on the wrench first. It doesn't matter how big the pins are for the order you pick them. For most locks you can use a diamond or hook for the whole lock. All locks are different, and different rakes might work better on some.

How many pins?
For me, knowing what my farthest range is will determine how many pins I have on my site. Right now I won't shoot out past 30 yards so I only use 2 of my 3 pins. When I decide that I can extend my range then I will use the 3rd and maybe even add a 4th pin.

Does anyone occasionally hit the safety pins during a squat?
This happens to me occasionally - I'll go a little too slow and hit the safety bars with my barbell. When this happens, the lift seems to become a little more difficult. Is there any reason for this or is it mostly in my head? I'm not crashing into the pins - it's usually just a light touch so I never tend to lose much stabilization. Similarly, if I squatted down and rested on the safety pins for a second or two, will it make squatting up become a lot more difficult?

Disney pins on the flight?
My DS had his lanyard round his neck in Sandford airport last year and we were made to put it in the suitcase or throw it in the bin. My DH had one loose in his pocket with his change though, but I dont think they noticed that one.
