tomato seeds? or plants?

Has anyone out there bought tomato plants from seed catalogs? I have been told not to grow tomatos
from seeds. Has anyone grown tomatos from seeds? How do you do it?
from randomly cross-pollinated plants, as they might not result in the true variety you are after. Tomato
sauce tomato.

So this person I know has a cherry tomato plant. The thing grows and grows and looks rather healthy
, but it won't bear fruit. Any ideas how I can help coax it into giving a tomato or two?

I have been pinching out my tomato plants and there are several bunches of tomatos on each plant...
which are slowly getting bigger. What do I do about the height of the plants though, they have now
problem with hers. the plants that are in the gro bags and were not watered last week while I was away
