I'm doing some portlet development for IBM WebSphere Portal 6.1. However, the deployment process is painfully slow. As this is my first time doing portlet development, I'm not too familiar with the various portal servers out there. I'd like some recommendations...

I'm not familiar with each of their deployment characteristics, but here is a list of open source portals in Java: http://java-source.net/open-source/portals
I believe Liferay has become Sun's adopted strategy , if that has any bearing.....

I've got an application leaking out java heap at a decent rate (400 users leaves 25% free after 2hours...after logoff all memory is restored) and we've identified the items causing the memory leak as Strings placed in session that appear to be generated...

I'm a few levels into chapter six, and I've already discovered the blue repulsion gel. So far, this game seems harder than the original portal. I have gotten stuck for a while more often in Portal 2 over Portal 1. The game makes Portal 1 seem pretty easy...

The concept predicament scenarios.
Thus, playing Portal 1 in the past (noob) seemed harder than playing Portal 2 in the present (pro) where experience & predictability have developed.
Some reviewers can't distinguish time.

Wow. I just saw a video on youtube from Valve showing some 7th graders taking a trip to Valve headquarters and learning how to build levels in Portal. I am so jealous of them, especially since I want to work in video games when I grow up and work specifically...

In The original Diablo we were able to learn the town portal spell by using a book of town portal wouldn't it be better for the heroes to find a book of town portal that teaches them the spell instead of the stone of town portal... What i mean by that...

It really depends on the portal engine but if you are interested in Java portlets ( JSR 286 to design a portal that is so large then you may want to be familiar with the concepts in " Service.
