Excercise or dieting? Which one do you hate more? - MegaGames Forum

As we all know, many people :cry2: when they look at the scale.

But are the options really any good?

Excercise is redundant and boring :tredmil: .

Most diets involve eating fake disgusting food that either gives you the runs or makes you fart :fart: .

And the pills have some interesting side-effects :bandit: :blaccry :grayuhoh:  :eyemouth: .

I'm beginning to pack on the pounds myself, so if I ever have to diet or excercise, I'll have someone shoot me.:gun: Now put yourself in the shoes of a 500 pound man and reply with what you would do about it chunky. Ok, I admit it it was an experiment.

A twisted one to see how I could make use of as many of those facy thingies.

I am deeply sorry if anyone was offended and I will try not to subject the common public to such a horrible thing again.

Thank you for your understanding.

I excercise all the time by walking long distances and i eat ok but i never lose any weight and its frustrated me for years.

I love food. im only a bit overweight but i hate it.

I have a suggestion to all really overweighted people: Don't eat LESS, but eat more healthy.

Stop eating chips, chocolate, candy and all that stuff if you know you get too fat easily. Secondly, and that's more important: DO SOME SPORTS!

Do a sport that you like, and that you do several times a week.

Do an intense sport, not just a calm and easy sport.

A sport that makes you sweat, and exhausts you as much as possible. I know it's not easy.

I eat a lot, and I'm always hungry, but I will never be too fat.

It's just my genetic code...

But there is always a way to lose weight.

Spy is 100% right. All the diets that claim that you just get on them and lose weight should be outlawed, you have to eat right and exercise.

I play orgonised sports all year and in the warmer months a do road/offroad bike riding. Exercise is not that bad, go and buy the cheapest bike you can find and ride it, it not that hard, ride to work or something.

I love to ride my bike with freinds.

It dose not have to be Tour de France speed.

On good days a hour is all you need, i do 40 km most weekends in summer sometimes more.

Just start slow keep doning and and you will feel better, and then you will ride better.

It not hard. Heres a story, Moylance and I live in the same town and a good friends, he dose not do the organised sports like i do but he lives in town and i don't.

He rides his bike everywhere, and he is ideal weight for his size.

He is a better sprit rider than me but i have the endurence.

One day I did about 50km with him. Just start out slow and as you get more in shape go a bit faster etc.

Like do 4km, then the do 6, then 10, not hard. If this sounds like a heath freak you are right, but on Aus TV I gotten so sick and tired of hearing people wine about being overweight, and don't say can not.

One of our teachers at school says can not gose with will not!!

Exactly, if you wanna lose weight, and you want it real hard, you'll lose it.

I was bored one day and I was watching television, when I saw these commercial about crap like "Premier Reduce Fat Fast" or bull like that.

I laughed the friggin hell out of me watching those idiocies.

MAN! One pill per day should decrease your weight of several kilo's in only a few weeks, without exercices, and without changing your eating habits... RIGHT!

MY <you know what>

! That's 100% crap.

There must always be ONE sport you like to do...

If you have enough commitment to improve in it, you'll lose weight from yourself.

All i have to say is: 1.Eat Right 2.Exercise on a Daily Basis 3.Start a good diet (forget the pills) just watch what you eat

All you need to do is 1.

Exercise 2. don't eat food like twinkies you don't need to buy a $30 book to find that out

I make sure i do exercise ( of some sort) either table tennis, yoga, or jogging. it refreshes me up, when i become too exhausted with work. well, for a person ( like what 500lbs person?) that's kinda heavy.

There'll be quite a few things he/she must do. 1.

Eat right---as to fat people are the ones who like to eat junk foods and fast foods which are full of "empty calories". 2.

Do the moves---go get moving with some sports or hell walk, don't be so spoiled, that you have to use your car for everything. 3.put some fibre in your diet--this makes you feel full longer 4.for "dieters" ---don't starve yourselves.

This makes them feel deprived and later on gorge. 5.

Eat only what you need--stop--when you feel full already. those are basic points.

STUART, Fla. -- A 480-pound Martin County woman has died after emergency workers tried to remove her from the couch where she had remained for about six years. Gayle Laverne Grinds, 40, died Wednesday, after a failed six-hour effort to dislodge her from the couch in her home.

Workers say the home was filthy, and Grinds was too large to get up from the couch to even use the bathroom. Everyone going inside the home had to wear protective gear.

The stench was so powerful they had to blast in fresh air. A preliminary autopsy on the the four-foot, ten-inch woman lists the cause of death as "morbid obesity." But officials want to know more about the circumstances inside the home. Investigators say Grinds lived with a man named Herman Thomas, who says he tried to take care of her the best he could.

He has told them he tried repeatedly to get her up, but simply couldn't.

No charges have been filed, but officials are looking into negligence issues. Emergency workers had to remove some sliding glass doors and lift the couch, with Grinds still on it, to a trailer behind a pickup truck.

Removing her from the couch would be too painful, since her body was grafted to the fabric.

After years of staying put, her skin had literally become one with the sofa and had to be surgically removed. She died at Martin Memorial Hospital South, still attached to the couch. Neighbors say they had no idea Grinds lived at the duplex, though they had seen Thomas and some children outside. I don't have anything to say about this story.

I mean, what do you say about a woman who became infused with her couch from sitting on it too long? I hope we've all learned a valuable lesson from this...

(lol)

That`s the best comment I`ve heard in days!... Though I try not to think this, sometimes I feel that obese people (that don`t have a problem with their hormones or any other illness which causes their obesity) are simply lacking self-discipline... What do you think?

I mean they don`t have to eat at MacDonalds, or other fat food.

And why don`t they realize that they have to exercise, instead of trying "wonderdiet" or "wonderpill" nr 99...

Poor woman.

I agree with spy (Shocking ) People shouldn't eat less or diet - they should eat normal food instead of junk food and do a ltl more workout. I mean, I try to eat as less fat as I can - I usually only touch chicken, fish and turkey. P.S: Good topic, especcially among all the political ones!

We did some research on this in college and we found evidence that obesity is strongly linked with economicaly disadvantaged communities. The first generation eat and live on fast food and dont cook any healthy food or veg from scratch.

They feed their familly and kids processed crap and sugary snacks washed down with litres of coke and sprite.

These kids grow up excepting this as the norm and so it continues.

Nobody has taken the time to explain the food pyramid and the nature of healthy eating and a balanced diet. The health problems and vitamin defficiencies can lead to huge complications in later life and the standard of living for these people who cant afford to treat these ailments plummets.

The fact that the raw ingredients for a healthy nutrious meal in dublin city centre costs around 5 or 6 euro, (pasta with chicken and tomatoe sauce say) and requires effort and some time and skill to prepare.

In McDonalds a whole meal, including a drink and fries can be yours in 3 mins for less than 2 euro. Another factor in the growth of obestity was the erosion of familly meal times.

Nobody sits down with their children and chats to them over a home cooked dinner.

. Children are left to eat what they want when they want.

The fish and chip shops and chinese take aways are like a pandemic in these neighbourhoods.

Everywhere you look there is a 'chipper' or take away.

These are the patterns which set the scene for their eating habbits for the duration of their life. i think the government should do more to promote healthy eating (what about in primary schools, learning the basics of a balanced diet?) and stop granting so many licences to these places.

I like a big mac or curry as much as the next person but they are dammaging the health of people who dont know any better and rely on them as a dietry staple.

We (the tax payers) end up paying the costs for these peoples medical bills in the end as they clog up our hospitals and medical card system.

The percentage the government recieves from these chains profits is microscopic in relation to amount they have to spend treating the people affected..

. .

Now that i have laid out some of the reasons and remedies i have one final suggestion to help remedy the growing numbers of clinicaly obese men and women throughout the world.... PUT THE F##KIN FORK DOWN!!

PUT THE F##KIN FORK DOWN!! Please don't override the word filters. And putting the fork down isn't always correct: they should not really eat less, they should eat healthier.

I agree with most said here.

I have no problems with exercising.

Unless I'm busy with my schoolwork, I always work out and I play tennis every day during the summer. I just find it enjoyable.

I also play the drums which is a full-body workout in itself! I am going to admit I'm a pig.

I eat a lot, but I eat two meals a day and it's usually just a turkey sandwhich and some baked corn chips - nothing fancy.

One or two cans of soda a day - it never gets me in the belly I do have an unhealthy lifestyle though - I work late and wake up late, I am dependent on caffeine, and etc.

- but as far as dieting and exercise goes, doing two hours of tennis every day and an hour of karate three days a week with a normal "AMERICAN" diet seems okay to me. I did get fat over this year of school however.

I guess I just wasn't prepared enough for universities ...

That or I just did too much work and too much partying Basically, I wasn't active and eating a lot of quick food that wasn't as healthy for me so that I could keep up with getting good grades at MIT. So, as I learned, it's more exercise the key than just simply dieting.

My "diet" is not very good compared to most other peoples' from different nationalities but I still somehow feel and look "sexy" enough in the eyes of Americans, so just work out and have some fun outside.

These computers can't keep us indoors forever!

What only two meals a day???

If I don't get my three meals, I'd eat my computer screen at school I eat lots of candy, chips and all that unhealthy crap in front of the computer.

I admit, and I'm not proud of it, but the difference is that I do lots of sports.

2,5 hours of karate 3 times a week is enough to burn down that excessive amount of fat I eat every day.

I have never passed the 80 kilo's, and unless I stop sports, I never will. That's why I say excercices are very important.

It's true that my genetics won't let me become fat...

You know, it depends from person to person: some people can eat a lot without getting fat, others get fat if they don't watch out every day.

I belong to that first category.

But it still doesn't take away that I wouldn't be as healthy if I didn't do any sports.

Hi Spy! 80 kilos isn`t that much if you`re a tall guy.

I`m 191 centimetres high, and weigh 86 kilos.

According to some mathematical formula my girlfriend knows, my bodymass is below that which is normal for a guy with my height. How tall are you? Btw, what style of Karate do you train?

H , I know that Someone, who is 184cm has a min bodymass of 56 Kgs. I don't think that 7 more cm could in fact mean over 24 Kgs in bodymass. Sounds a ltl wierd to me.... I think that for 191 cm u should be around 80 Kgs...

Veg, you are correct, but Genasha is right too...

I am underweight.

But I don't care.

I feel healthy, and I'm happy with how I am I know I'll never be fat, and I almost never grow fatter. @ganesha: I do a style of which there is only one club in Belgium called Uechy-Ryu.

You know that?

You know that? ok.

Just watch out...people tend to get fatter as they grow older, you know.

Older people tend to develop central obesity.

Hi mate, its not just empty calories that's in junk food.

But a lot of unhealthy stuff in there, msg, coloring, artificial flavors etc etc etc.

So to be "skinny" isn't enough.

The point is to be healthy , even if you may be a little chubby. take my sister for example, her diet is must have junk food in a day. she developed an alergy, she would have headaches if she'd eat junk food(chips) particularly in 3 straight days. there are healthier snacks-alternative, just a word of caution from a friend.

What can I say Veg, it`s because of all my muscles Spy 005, No I haven`t heard of that style before, but I`m allways eager to know more of the arts.

Could you tell me of it, or do you have a link?

Never heard of that style Spy.

I do Shaolin Kempo karate, and am now a 2nd Degree Black in it. I tell you, it's a perfect way to have fun and get some exercise.

Plus the skills you learn are great - you never know when you'll need them And it got me good summer jobs as an instructor this year.

Quote: : ok. just watch out...people tend to get fatter as they grow older, you know.

I might get fatter, but I will never be too fat.

My father and my grandfather are all skinny people (way more skinny than I am) Anyways, as you say, there is nothing wrong with being a little fat, as long as your healthy.

You are like you are, and many people just can't accept how they're build. @Aman: Never heard of your style neither, but there are so many styles, you can't know all of them Did't know you already had black.

I had orange when I was a kid, then I had to stop for a few years because of my back, and now, I restarted with white half a year ago. I do it because it's fun, and it's one of the few sports I actually like And as you say, the skills can always be of use
