Workabees: Positive Vibes in the Hive - Topic Powered by Prevention.com

'Nuf said. Lights the incense and puts on the Ravi Shankar CD.

I actually enjoy sitar music, find it very soothing.

Right will win out. I am sure. Eventually. OK off to w out.

This is the week, Anyone want to join me on P1?

I start on Wed.

Ohhh... Wed would bee a good day for me, since I go back to W on Wednesday and it's always easier when I'm at W and not having to feed the boyz. I'm with ya Lurka.

I commit do doing P1 (plus berries) because strawberries are cheap right now and I can't give them up, even for P1.

But I will give up the WMW - there - I've said it, so now I have to follow through.

Positive vibes sound good.

Had dh at the er friday night from midnight-5am sat morning with his heart flapping around.

He's okay, but will have to get a cardiology w-up.

I'm so tired, mentally.

*curls up & sinks into the flannel* no p1 for me, thanks.

I don't even know what p i do anymore, actually.

Just try to watch what i eat, i guess got the scale down to 134/135.

Which is good, considering i was inching back up close to 140.

Ooh beamy. That is scary.

Muy best hope to you two. OK I really am out of here. Anyone else want to join LC and me?

A good day for positive things to happen!!!! Beamy, that IS scary!!!! PE Princesselaine (PE) Community Host Alternative Health and Remedies Forum Anti-aging Advice & Tips Forum Blog

Beamy, that must have been scary! Lurka, how was your w'out? Not gonna do P1 here, but I do need to get back on track and am planning on today being the starting point. Must admit, I'm surprised that the site of my tetanus shot still hurts today.

It is slowly getting better, but really makes me think about all the shots my boys got when younger and the times that they complained about it hurting. I've been w'ing on this baby blanket for at least a couple of weeks now...it's not super difficult, but is very time consuming and I'm now to the point where I need to count the first round and see if I actually have 500 stitches and I'm not really wanting to count!

Hi Bees! Sending extra positive thoughts today. *lights a virtual candle* Oh, I'll do a Ph.1, even tho' I just did one not too long ago.

However, it was pretty easy and I'm not sure why.

I stumbled transitioning to Phase 2 (then tried the DTOUR plan which was a mistake).

I have to do one thing at a time! (((Beamy))), Gee all that stress can't bee good for either of you. Good luck with the blankie, Rox.

I'm horrible at knitting/crocheting.

Just as well, I can't do stuff like that anymore.

I have to save my hands for w, unfortunately. Isabelle (Is/Iz) Community Forum Host for Weight Loss Success Stories , Popular Diets & Recipe Exchange . My Blog

W out over. My goal is 4 a week, plus a walk every day. OK now to grade papers and look for a j. The fun never stops. Wonders how AnnieBee is doing.

I'm sure Annebee is mucho distracted, but she'll have her game face on. *continuing to send positive energy* *good thoughts going to beamy and her DH as well* Wow, he's been hit with a lot. Rox - I wouldn't want to count those stitches either.

I'd get distracted waaay beefore I reached 500. I'm not in for p1, but I HAVE to start doing better.

I'll try to bee good. *hides the choc/almonds* Jeans were pinchin' in the waist yesterday.

Yes those pinching jeans will do it every time.

Yup. I'm wearing looser jeans today, but somehow I don't thinks that's the solution.

Hi Bees! Beamy, sorry to hear about DH's condition.

All the more reason his employeer should be understanding, imo.

I hope they reconsider (they probably contributed to this mess).

He's lucky to have you. Went to the bank to try to get DD's SS card out of the safe deposit box, but wasn't sure it was there.

She hasn't needed it for the last few js she's had;

A W-2 with her name and # was sufficient (it's bee lost a long time, iirc).

So I grabbed her passport and BC.

Now she's standing in line to get the paper-w that proves she's applied for a replacement card, which her employer is requiring before her 3rd day of w (today is the 2nd day, but her 3rd day isn't till Thursday -- however, she goes back up to school tomorrow and takes her last final on Wednesday, so not a lot of time).

Is supposed to report to w in 25 min.

We've been texting, and she'll let me know what happens. Senior Prevention Forum Host: Health Alerts Forum "What's for Dinner?" Forum Yoga & Pilates Forum Check out my blog here at Prevention! "The way to be slim is to act like a slim person." 166.5/148/126 Started South Beach 10/6/03

I've been considering P1, but considering how much good whole-grain bread and fruit I bought yesterday, I might need to wait a week before that's practical (yes, some bread is already in the freezer...

We'll see). I need to do something, but maybe a strict P2 and a little more cardio will do it. Was there a problem with DTOUR, Is?

I've been reading the book (up to like page 100), but haven't actually looked at the eating plan yet.

Was thinking it might be good to try -- except it, too, is something like 1600 calories.

That's pretty tough for me to handle;

DD texted that she got the paper-w.

Should still be able to get to w on time, and have time to get a locker (wasn't issued one yesterday) and let them know about her unavailability during our Maine Trip (5/23-28).

She won't bee home from w until after 8:30.

Think she'll be hungry (w-ing at a grocery store)? Senior Prevention Forum Host: Health Alerts Forum "What's for Dinner?" Forum Yoga & Pilates Forum Check out my blog here at Prevention! "The way to be slim is to act like a slim person." 166.5/148/126 Started South Beach 10/6/03

Got a semi j offer, i think?

More like i was told i might get an offer, lol co-Wer's dh got orders, so they're moving.

Her last day is in 3wks.

She told the partners a month ago but they haven't interviewed for a replacement.

Now it's down to the wire & they need someone while she's still here, to train them a little before she goes. They'd give it to me straight out but i can't tell them with any certainty what's going on/how long we'll be here ourselves.

Which i understand & told them i do.

Sd they'll be interviewing ppl from temp service from now until friday & will make a decision then.

Sd it will depend on what sort of ppl the service sends them.

No, there isn't a problem with DTOUR except that I lost focus...trying to do too much at a time...thinking I could do the Phase 2 transition while doing DTOUR Fast Start. So, now I'm eating xxx (like I mentioned yesterday). If you lose on 2000, do that.

FBD had me OK to have about 1850 if I input exercise into their calorie customization calculator on the paid site. Isabelle (Is/Iz) Community Forum Host for Weight Loss Success Stories , Popular Diets & Recipe Exchange . My Blog

Thanks for the prompt feedback, Is! Now I just have to w my way through the book.

I hear the recipes are good, so that part will bee fun.

I haven't found a place where they saying OK to rmw--but have seen warnings for those on insulin and how I think they said it could even lower blood sugar numbers.

(OK...guessing about that, beecause I'm keeping periodic cocktails in the diet...and didn't pay close attention to that.) Isabelle (Is/Iz) Community Forum Host for Weight Loss Success Stories , Popular Diets & Recipe Exchange . My Blog

Off W today, so not super dressy, tan Columbia pants, brown and tan skechers, navy blue A&F cap sleeve polo shirt in a very fine gauge t-shirt material. Sun is shining, and it's 13°C/55°F (predicted to co up another couple of degrees this afternoon) so DH and I have plans to walk around the lake as soon as he gets home from W.

Kidlet won't bee home until 6'ish anyway because he's got track practice after school.

Hope doggie is up to his second trip today around the lake, beecause neighbour took him around 1 o'clock, but he'll have an absolute fit if we go and leave him home.

He should bee fine.

As I was tidying my desk I found a picture of Annebee and family,so I sat and gave them positive vibes.

Keeping all sorts of stuff crossed for them. You can lose on 2000 calories, I cannot lose on anything more than 1200....stoopid feeping thyroid.

I have to eat almost nothing and exercise like an olympian to lose more than just water weight.

It is getting very discouraging. Beamy scary stuff.

Sending you some good vibes as well.

The stress of the military paperw snafoo must be intense. H and I went to the gun show yesterday, I was surprised that I enjoyed it.

More surprised at how comfortable I was with some of those guns in my hands.

Freaking stunned that H walked out of the show with a handgun very different here in the south compared to Boston. As long as we are sitting here together we have everything

Doggies (unlike people) are ALWAYS up for a walk. Nice that you have some sunshine, LC.

You're much warmer today than we are.

9°C/48°F here and scattered showers. Dark (stretch ) jeans, black t-shirt. I'm home today.

Went in for awhile yesterday to get some stuff done while the shop was closed. I haven't heard differently, so I'll assume w experience girl made it in today. Treating myself to yard w again. Beamy - makes your j situation tough when so many things are up in the air.

Good luck. CRed - I can't imagine going anywhere near a gun show, let alone having a gun in my house.

Cred I am with you.

1300 is my maintenance. Why I have to bee hyper vigilant, although hoping that w'ing out a lot will up my set point. OK back to you know what.

I'd get distracted waaay beefore I reached 500. Well, I finally got the 500 stitches counted.

I finally learned (about 3 months ago) to use stitch markers when counting lots of stiches, cuz I'd get to about 300 and not remember if it was 300 or 200 or 400.

Quote: : No More: Yes those pinching jeans will do it every time. Yup, in my case, it's pinching shorts.

My jeans all have stretch, but my shorts don't and even when they aren't snug (which they are right now), they still tend to pinch just cuz they are denim.

It is getting very discouraging. Is it possible to eat only 1200 calories and not bee starving all day? Earlier this year, I was tracking my food, mostly watching what I ate and still had about 1500-1800 calories on average.

There was an occasional day down around 1350-1400, but then the next day I was starving.

Quote: : Is it possible to eat only 1200 calories and not bee starving all day? Earlier this year, I was tracking my food, mostly watching what I ate and still had about 1500-1800 calories on average.

There was an occasional day down around 1350-1400, but then the next day I was starving. Actually I really have to W to get up to 1200 calories a day when I'm doing strict P1.

Seems like I'm eating all the time, and I'm not starving, but I actually have to plan to make sure I get enough calories.

I am in the same place.

The first time I did P1, I tracked it (and plan to this time as well).

I was averaging about 900 calories a day. Course that was the time I lost 7 lbs over the two weeks, none of which came back when I started P2.

Hasn't happened since.

Quote: : Is it possible to eat only 1200 calories and not bee starving all day?

Only on a Phase 1 can I stay around this level.

The grains and fruit really up the numbers. Generally, I would have a vv difficult time staying at 1200-1300.

Usually sets me up for a binge.

1400-1600 is much more realistic.

Only if I'm doing lots of serious workouts would I up the calories from that.

Though it's true that I go higher because I like to eat. Isabelle (Is/Iz) Community Forum Host for Weight Loss Success Stories , Popular Diets & Recipe Exchange . My Blog

And...that calorie customization calculator that I mentioned earlier (on the FBD paid site) has me ideally taking in 1100-1300 calories/day if I don't exercise...if I want to lose weight. That's probably due to my age. Isabelle (Is/Iz) Community Forum Host for Weight Loss Success Stories , Popular Diets & Recipe Exchange . My Blog

Quote: : Quote: : I go higher because I like to eat And that is how most (or all) of us ended up here. **whispers** Liquid calories might have helped some of us arrive here as well.

I didn't track when on Phase 1 all those years ago...but I probably ate more nuts than was 'allowed'. I dunno...I gotta figure something out, but I find I have a lot more issues with low blood sugar if I go more towards P1 (for example, salad with chicken for lunch has me crashing about an hour later).

Quote: : **whispers** Liquid calories might have helped some of us arrive here as well. Guilty as charged!

Yes and no. Yes you are starving for about 10 days on 1200 calories.

Around day 11 you become ambivalent about food all together and you don't notice the hunger as much.

I can only sustain this type of living on the short term a month at max and then I end up at the end of a bag of chips and don't remember how it happened. Oh and that's 1200 calories with exercise, I can't imagine how low I would have to go to lose without at least walking 30 mins a day. Liquid calories yeah I can relate to that problem, since DD1 got her first period it has been hard not pouring a glass a wine or 3 after dinner with her. Tee I know how you feel and a year ago I was like gun show I don't think so but H has finally found a hobby and I have to support it.

He would w constantly or think about w constantly with no mental break.

He started going to the range with a buddy a couple years ago and he enjoys it.

He thought I would hate it so he tried not to let me know how much he enjoyed it and then hid the fact that he has a carry conceal license. That really bothered me, what had I said or done to make him think he had to hide something like that.

After a loud discussion nothing apparently I said but he wasn't sure and didn't wanna risk it.

(yeah i know a total BS answer but what can ya do) So in an effort to better understand I went to the show. As long as we are sitting here together we have everything

Quote: : H and I went to the gun show yesterday, I was surprised that I enjoyed it.

More surprised at how comfortable I was with some of those guns in my hands. I used to have a really bad rxn to seeing hand guns.

They would make me physically nauseous.

Of course, I have gotten over that now, mostly because now I just see them as another w-related tool that my friends carry, along with their flashlight, etc.

Still would not bee comfortable holding one, however.

I am comfortable with long guns and do shoot DH's hunting rifles.

Handguns are a different deal for me though.

Probably would have the old rxn if I saw one in a context other than W.

Quote: : ...since DD1 got her first period it has been hard not pouring a glass a wine or 3 after dinner with her.

OMG...I missed that bit of news.

I have learnt to embrace hunger I think I would have the same reaction as you LC to seeing a real live handgun.

Or any kind of firearm.

Unless Annebee was in charge of it. Came home to find A still here, he'd come over around noon to catch up on 24, nice to have a little beeday visit with him.

I know this will sound totally sappy, but I look at him and think how incredibly fortunate I am to have such a wonderful young man as my son.

I really, really lucked out with him. The life of bees is like a magic well.

I have gained shudder 10 lbs in the last year.

Some of them were beecause I went off the diuretics (sp) I was talking for my ear, but far from all of them. And on p1, I am not hungry.

Except "mouth" hungry for foods that have some crispness to them.

I avoid nuts since they are my downfall.

Quote: : I doubt that I go over 1200 a day, often less.

I have learnt to embrace hunger I don't think I'll ever be able to embrace hunger.

Of course, the hypoglycemia doesn't help.

So even if I learned to live with feeling hungry, I don't think I could handle the other feelings/effects of my blood sugar crashing. Wow, Cred, 1200 calories with 30 min of exercise...that does not sound like fun!

DS#2 found out today that next year, he'll be 2nd chair trombone in the Wind Ensemble - which is the group mostly made up of 8th graders (he'll be a 7th grader next year).

What an honour for DS#2. It's nice to see his talent recognized!
