Poll: Where do you store your pic files when traveling? - CNET Digital cameras Forums
When youre traveling, how do you store or backup all your once in life time digital photos?
I keep them stored on multiple multimedia memory cards.
I store them on USB drives.
I store them on my laptop/Netbook.
I stop by the local shops and burn them on DVDs.
I use an online storage service.
I store them on a portable hard-drive.
I store them on my multimedia player.

I use Eye-Fi Explore SD card.
When I travel, I find a unsecured Wifi network (from my iPhone);
Turn my camera on, SMS my roommate to move my mouse so my iMac isn't idle and voila...
Once its all there;
I get a SMS back and you're good to go!

Hello To All;
While I was traveling;
I always bring my portable hard drive with me.
It is easier to use and probably lighter than being all those flash drives with me.

I use the Epson P5000 to back up the photos while traveling, so that I have one copy on my memory card and another on the Epson device.
On some occasions when I travel with my laptop, I will save a third copy on it.

I usually travel with my laptop so I download the photos whenever I can, copy to a DVD and then upload to Picasa so I know that even if my laptop is stolen or crashes I have a back up of them.
It also means that I can send family and friends smaller slideshows regularly rather than waiting until we get home and sending a huge one!

I always keep my photos stored in two places.
As soon as I'm able, I transfer them from the camera to my laptop.
I don't delete them from the original memory card until I have made a CD or DVD, or backed them up online.

I'm one of the visually challenged.
Long ago I picked up a Canon A-1, possibly the finest SLR's in the world at that time for almost a song.
I used it exactly once, to record a Soviet ship visit to 32nd Street Naval Station in San Diego.
I gave the pictures to the young sailors (female who accompanied me, and put it back in my locker.
Some years later I gave it to my sister who's into all things art.
I can recite the menu of any place I've dined in the world, but don't ask me to recall the decor.
I wouldn't have a clue.

The memory size of Flash Card like SD, Memory Stick and CF is increasingly large.
Now you can easily buy a 8G(min) SD card with a very cheap price.
So why bother on another backup device ?
Just take photo by your DSC or dSLR with a large Flash Card.
It's the cheapist, convenientist and almostly take no weight in you backpack.

I've got a device called a photo bank to store digital photos while on vacation.
The device stores up to 40GB of photos, takes different kind of media (MS, SD, MMC XD), has USB connectors, and is the size of a 2.5" hard drive.
It runs on built in (rechargeable) battery and doesn't require much energy.
