Can't install Bootcamp Drivers on Windows Vista x64 - Mac Forums
I have a late 2008 (the brand new) Macbook Pro 2.53 C2D and I installed vista on a partition succesffuly.
But once I try to install Boot Camp drivers, it doesn't work.
I open up the leopard DVD, and it starts installing all the network cards and video cards, but then it gets to "KeyAgent" and it says it failed to install because I it couldn't access startup services.
I pressed ignore, then it came to "MacHal" (i think, somehting like that) and it said the same thing.
I looked under my account privelges, and I'm an administrator with access to everything, so I'm not sure what's going on.

I have the same exact issue with my Santa rosa mbp 2.2 GHZ.
I do not have a solution but you are not alone on the issue, nor is it because of the new mbp hardware.
Hopefully there is a simple fix.

I don't believe that there ARE Apple supplied drivers.

Never had this problem.
But I have seen many posts about Boot Camp driver issues with the late '08 MB/MBPs.

What kind of Vista?
Business, Home, Ultimate?
I am running Vista Ultimate x64 and I installed the basic drivers off the Leopard DVD.
I then searched the web and found updated drivers to use.
It works well so far.
Whenever there's an "error" when installing the drivers I've never hit ignore, I just hit "continue." This way all the other drivers are installed.

Penryn MBP here, with Vista 64 Business and I had no problems other than the annoying "we don't let you download the BC drivers, so you have to go dig-up the system discs that came with the MBP when you bought it, and then install and upgrade those with the incomplete new version downloaded from our site" problem.

Apparently there are drivers for 64-bit Vista but they only come with the Mac Pro boot disks.
Convenient, eh? I ended up just downloading them by other means.
Bootcamp 2.1 added support for 64-bit Vista.

No, I believe the 64bit drivers are on all discs as my MB has the 64bit drivers.
I installed Vista64 in bootcamp usingthem.
Try running cmd as admin in windows and point it to the correct direction of the .msi bootcamp installer and install from there.

I got 64bit vista on my macbook you just have to run as the install as admin and use your osx disk

im using vista ultimate 64bit on one of the new 09 imacs which have bootcamp 2.1 drivers as standard.
No matter what i change i always have to ignore keyagent and mac HAL to get bootcamp to install.
UAC is off, tried running the install via cmd line with 'run as administrator..
Even though im using an administrator account.
not holding out much hope that bootcamp 3.0 will fix this either as it seems to only be affecting a minority.
anyone had any success?

p.s.: i don't know if the keyagent is the problem, but the "sound" buttons on the keyboard don't work either....

I tried for 4 hours yesterday to get Win7 RTM x64 installed on my iMac, but had problems and needed to blow away my initial BootCamp and re-install the 32 bit version.
Biggest issues were that the MacHAL and KeyAgent drivers weren't signed, so 64 bit won't let them install.
This meant Bootcamp control panel wouldn't let me select which drive I wanted to boot with, meaning I couldn't boot back into OS X.
I had to boot to the leopard DVD and use the utilities menu to get back to the OS X boot drive.
I'd love to have the 64 bit version working but after much time Googling I couldn't find any workable solutions, so I reverted back to the 32 bit version which installed without a hitch - except sound level is low...still trying to solve that one, but I spent enough time "playing" with Win7 yesterday and needed to do some other things.
Any hints out there?
