XE, LS or Mach II?? - EXTREME Overclocking Forums

Ive been getting parts together for a new rig, and wanted some other opinions on how to cool it.

Whatever i go with it has to fit into a heavily modded wavemaster case(width is an issue 19.2cm).

I was leaning towards the XE due to it being available as a kit, but dont like the tiny evaporator surface especially if it'll be cooling a socket T, and i could just as easily strip down one of the other two.

Lastly if anyone has seen an LS kit on the market lemme know. so far: gigabyte ga-8ANXP-D gigabyte GV-RX80X256V (Radeon X800 XT Platinum) (waiting) corsair TWIN2X1024-5400C4 (DDR2) Audigy 2 aquacomputer watercooling for chipset, gpu, gpu RAM peltier cooling for ram 2x WD Raptor 10k 36gb (raid 0) 2x 2x WD Raptor 10k 72gb (raid 0+1) maxtor 120gb 7.2k (old) enermax eps v12(660w for components, and 2 hds), 1upower TPCM3000(650w for cooling, and 5 hds)

LS is your best bet, its almost as good as mach II, but asetek is not out of buissness so if it brakes your not screwed....btw, wtf is socket t?

Socket T: LGA 775 its the new intel prescott, they dont have pins on the processor, it has a "Land Grid Array".

The socket has a weird clamp thing to hold it down now.

From now on all of the new prcs above 3.4 will use it. http://www.tomshardware.com/motherbo...et_775-04.html

I kno bout lga775, jus didnt kno i was called socket t, thanks for the info

Actually it outperforms the mach2 at high o/ced speeds and is very close at slower speeds, plus the mach2 gets hot as when it hits 240+w heatload

Plz dont start 2 threads about the exact same thing...

Or with the exact name etc.

Ya thats my bad, is there any way to get rid of it? does anyone know of how to seal a LGA775?

It looks like its gonna be a

Try google for a guide very futuristic rig your building there

Do not buy LGA775, it o/cs less and the cpu socket system is hopeless..

^ where did you hear that???? i saw some nice oc's on STOCK cooling

Thats what i thought too, but a buddy of mine has the new 3.6E and took it to 3.98 on stock air, and stopped due to the heat, and this guy ( http://www.vr-zone.com/ocdb/data.php...l_or_amd=intel ) has it at 4117.3 air cooled...

There arnt many out there yet but i think it has potential.
