Existing H1 visa validity after F1 visa stamping - ImmigrationPortal Forums

Hi, I am currently on a H1B visa status in the US.

My visa is valid till 2010.

However, I now plan to pursue higher education from the US and plan to get a fresh F1 stamped from my home country.

I have a query as to whether my H1 would be cancelled when I get the F1 stamped?

Or would I be still able to use my H1 after I finish my coursework, provided my H1 has not expired at that point of time. Appreciate your comments! Thanks.

Thank you for the response. Does that mean there is no way to keep the H1 visa, valid on the passport so that it can be used later? Also, one of my colleague has both L1 and H1 stamped on his passport.

His L1was not cancelled when he got his H1 stamped.

He is currently on L1 status but plans to soon use his H1 status for a new employment. Doesn't the same apply in case of F1 and H1.

Are the rules different only in case of F1? Please advice.

Thank you.
