Can't setup a partnership: Treo 700W, Windows Vista, Bluetooth, Vaio VGNSZ430N - Bluetooth & WiFi - Palm Support Community
Devices can see one another through Bluetooth, but Windows Mobile Device Center won't let me set up a synchronization partnership.
Bounced back and forth between Sony and Verizon tech support, Sony finally decided it must be an incompatible Windows Vista driver on the Treo 700W.
Palm does not have such a driver available or address the issue at all.
We did everything including reinstalling Vaio drivers.
The devices WILL partner, but Windows Mobile Device Center won't recognize it.
Anybody have any luck??
Post relates to: Treo 700w (Verizon)

I had the same problem with the same exact laptop purchased this week, only with the Treo 700p.
Unsolved after 3 hours and calling Palm.

I had the exact same problem: Treo 700wx, Windows Vista, Bluetooth, Vaio VGN-TZ170N.
Found the following discussion on line: http://www.tabletquestions.com/windows-vista/58436-windows-mobile-dst-update-error-vista-outlook-2007-a.html Problem resolved after I disable User Access Control (UAC) of my user account (an administrator account) in Windows Vista!!

I had the same problem with my VAIO VGN-FZ180 with Vista Ultimate and my Treo 700wx I searched for months, called all kinds of tech support.
(Of course the tech supports always blamed the other manufacturer) Anyway, I finally did a search for "Toshiba Bluetooth" since I noticed that the bluetooth icon on the computer was a program called "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba".
This took me to a web page in Germany (aps.toshiba-tre.de).
On that page I found their instructions on how to sync from vista to treo.
Here's the link: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/?page=howto Then download the artical tittled "Synchronization via Bluetooth Vista Windows Media Device Center - WindowsMobile 5" I followed the instructions and it works most of the time.
When it doesn't work, I have to go into Task Manager and stop the process for wmplayer.exe I've been having a problem with Windows Media Player for a long time.
I don't know how this causes the bluetooth not to connect properly.
Anyway, good luck
