Without knowing the exact reason for crashing, it's hard to tell. Please post the info found in the windows event log, as it should log crash information.

3g ram? Probably mismatched.

Remove some of the RAM.

Try swapping sticks around.

Unknown module and offset 0x . Hurm...not good for clues. In the details of the windows error reporting dialog - can you get a crash type?

0xC 17? 0xC 5? One random thought - make sure there isn't a spare OpenAL32.dll in your windows\system32 directory - if so, some installation put one there that is making the lotroclient unhappy.

Already thought of that, dropped to 2 gigs & still having the same problem. Bunsen next crash Ill see what pops up.

Heres a screenshot of what info I could find this last crash. I also made sure there was no OpenAL32 files. If Im missing some info, explain where to get it from so I can get it to you asap.

This is getting REALLY annoying.

Thanks for the help so far however!

Well, it's an access violation (0xC 5), however still not enough detail. If you don't mind gathering a dump file and somehow sending it to us, I can send instructions on how to collect one.

Sure whatever you need Ill get for you, just give me instructions on how to get it & I can PM it or email it or whatever you need.

Thanks a ton for the help so far. Its happening less often now also.

Ok, you'll have a PM shortly.

Ok, after looking at your crash dump, something looks fishy with data. I'm suspecting corrupt data - so the question then is how this occurred since we thought we were fairly good on making the dat files reliable nowadays: - Did you install from DVD? - Did you install via TDM? - Do you have access to another "clean" installation where you can copy the dat files from? - Worst case is please try re-installing. I'm guessing if you grab a copy of the dat files from another install or a friend, this should hopefully clear things up.

Downloaded via TDM.

I dont have any disks as Im running off the trial.

I still debating over getting the retail version. As a side note, any chance this corrupt data would also cause stuttering in game? Thank you for looking into this also, its nice when devs actually step up & looks into issues instead of giving copy/paste text book answers.

Since you used TDM, it should have an option to reverify all the data.

(I'm less versed with it, but please look for it) Please give that a shot. Stuttering in game?

That could be caused by a number of issues: - fragmented dat files (defrag the drive) - slow disk - network issues

Ok, for future reference, after looking in all of the usual spots to no avail, the way to verify & repair is to right click on or next to the ring icon in the bottom left corner of TDM. As far as my stuttering, highly doubtful its my internet connection, I have road runner turbo & get about 15k down & I dont stutter in any other games. Could be a defrag but I just reformatted my HD about a month ago.

Will try that after I get done with this verify & repair. Slow disk....ehhh like I said, no issues with any other games, CoD4/5, WoW & Bioshock are all flawless.

Crashing problem gone now?

Or still a problem? Quote: : As far as my stuttering, highly doubtful its my internet connection, I have road runner turbo & get about 15k down & I dont stutter in any other games.

Watch the in-game network icon (an option you can turn on).

Don't forget it's a full network - it may be fast and low latency to some areas, but not others. Quote: : Could be a defrag but I just reformatted my HD about a month ago.

Not really comparable.

None of the games have loading situations of open world like we do (except WoW, except they're asset sizes are much smaller over all - so less disk loading).
