UKCS Mega Game Servers • View topic - Photoshop Uninstalling
Hey everyone! Need some help!
My Mum's has Adobe Photoshop CS3 trial for her PC (and installed it with no problems), however as a gift my Dad got her the Adober Master Suite CS3 collection (This photoshop is Extended).
She decided to uninstall Photoshop but to no avail.
From that, she installed the Master Suite collection hoping that it would over-write the Trial version.
Once installed, she tried to load it but it did not load!
This time round she tried to uninstall the Master Collection, and again, to no avail.
Now she can't use Photoshop at all and we have no idea why!
Any help?
Thankyou x Quote: : It's only Final Fantasy, get a grip.

Clean Reg and then install.
Download ALM Registry Cleaner- Freeware.
Or eqv Registry Cleaner.
Reboot in safe mode- Don't have to but its just safer, adobe tends to have things running in the background- Acrobat Updater/Bridge etc.
Load up AML and make a back up of your Registry
Use the uninstall manager in AML to remove everything photoshop- you will have alot of supporting files that are installed with photoshop, get rid of them all.
Then run a Registry scan cleaning up invalid/missing files/Photoshop reg keys.
Reboot and install from fresh.
Note.
*You might have some adobe programs you will want to keep like Reader.

Give this freeware a spin:
http://www.revouninstaller.com/
I've not tried it yet, but it seems to be quite good at removing all traces of an app from a pc
Xerxes...: I would so do the batman theme with pidgin instead now

Seriously you really don't need to.
I did it recently when I changed from CS2 to CS4:

I had exactly the same thing.
Right this is exactly what I did:
1) Rebooted in Safe mode.
** Very Important.
2) Disabled Network and Anti Virus/Firewall.
** Very Important
3) Uninstalled the following from AML:- dont use Add/Remove
Photoshop
Fireworks
Reader
Flash Player/Flash- apparently it messes up the install sometimes.
anything else adobe.
4)Removed anything adobe from the Reg.
5)Rebooted and installed.

Lmao! er that's a pretty large problem.
Something that your gonna have to sort!
Sounds like a driver conflict or sorts.
You could check what's wrong in the windows error report.
I would suggest you repair XP using your Bootdisk.
It will fix windows without you loosing your files.
Or you could always backup/format and reinstall windows.
Either way it will fix your Photoshop problem

Woops, Same applies though I think.
Although the recovery disk deletes you files so I would use the recovery disk (you can get it off msdn its like 200mb or something) AFTER you have created a partition and backup up all your files onto it.
Vista you can do it from the control pannel
