SmartBro vs. Globe Tatoo - Motorcycle Philippines - The #1 Motoring Enthusiast Community in the Country
I need feedbacks and recommendations between the two:
1] best HSDPA / 3G coverage [makati area ]
2] best consistent connection
3] best technical support
4] best continous signal coverage
5] best service
6] best in ease of use
pros and cons na rin
apparently nag mura na yung USB modem nya...

I have tried both.
Smart laging walang signal, daming deadspot.
Globe sobrang bagal and ang dami din deadspot.
I am using Sun broadband kit right now whenever I travel around the city with my netbook.
Way better siya than globe and smart

una mas madaming FREE stuff,
mas madlai ihack...

mas sosyal..hehehe
kidding aside..
if you are reffering to a globe dongle usb,i suggets dont...
why?one,naka lock siya sa wcdma network,hindi lahat ng aeras covered,
(paki correct kung mali)
alam nio ba nasa loob ng usb thing na yan?
isa pang sim card..
need to say..pag binili mo yan you are maintaining 2 numbers ung isa di mo nga lang magamit..heheheh
alternative ...
use phone as modem ung cp mo,
sa globe ,simpleng palit ng ip and a third party app,,me connection ka na for free,
advantages ng cp mode vs ung tatoo
mas available ang gprs at 3g network,kesa sa network nung tatoo.,
at kahit at san ka,me connection ka unlike globe tatoo,,
pm me kung need mo ng details sa hacking trick sa globe network...
surf for free ika nga...hehehhehe
speed 2mbps,not bad ayt?

does it uses USB modem as well?

Me dead spots ba sa manila or province?
i never knew na 2 sim ang naka kakabit sa usb modem...para saan yung isang sim?
di ko rin alam na full HSDPA compliant lang pala ang mga usb stick.
So di pala pwede silang mag downgrade to GPRS kung di kaya 3G?
i used to have a 3G data card which can do both 3G and GPRS long before nauso ang wireless broadband dyan..kaso, di na pwede technolgy ng data card sa laptop and netbooks kaso ala ng slot na provision..puro usb na lang
i have a huwei usb dito gamit ko sa uk...plano ko sanang ipa ulock sa pinas..kaso mo baka alang software/drivers na ipwede i install sa usb to make it run dyan [ika nga open line]
otherwise usb stick is tempting kasi mura na sya...lalo na sa globe

Base sa feedbacks na nababasa ko mas madaming nagagandahan talaga sa sun broadband..
zeus, mukhang babad ka sa pagbabasa ng mga tuts sa symb ah..

Tumingin ako sa website ng sun...medyo mahal yung kit compared sa smart and globe.

Depende ung prepaid nila,2k lang po ung usb mismo,tpos pay as you use service,10 petot 30mins,

Exactlydedicated sila sa hspda or wcdma networks,so kung wala kang reception dun ng hspda or wcdma,wala kang connection,unlike kung cp as modem ka,me gprs signal na sasalo sayo...

sa globe po kasi madaming loop holes,kaya maraming nakaka hack sa network na yan unlike smart,,,,
mas madali mag free internet ...
thrid party app?Kung familiar kayo sa OPera mini,maraming modified version nito na gumagamit ng custom servers that lets you surf for free using the globe network..

ill post here ung basic step of using cp as modem Let's Get Going .

REQUIREMENTS:
1.
NOKIA phone (e.g.
S40, s60) with either infrared, bluetooth or usb connectivity.
2.
NOKIA pc suite: ( for more info, just goto this thread credits to sir Thormentor: Mobile Related PC Tools(PC suite) )

Last but not the least, you must have syempre your Personal Computer (PC)
PROCEDURES:
Session 1: Connecting To The Internet
A.
Open your Nokia PC suite.
You can access that from your desktop, or from
Start menu ->
All Programs ->
Nokia PC suite.
B.
Connect your Phone via USB or bluetooth to your PC.
[note: mostly s40 phones when you connect it to usb, a prompt will appear from your phone and letting you choosing either you will connect your phone as a Nokia mode, Printing & media or Data Storage.
Choose Nokia Mode , so that the pc suite will recognize your phone]
C.
Wait a little Bit.
You will now see that your phone was detected by your PC suite.
D.
From your PC suite goto or click:
1.
FILE MENU
2. Connect to the internet
E.
Configuring ONE TOUCH ACCESS:
this section, we are now going to configure our access point!!!
3.
Click configuration (Wrench tool icon)
4.
Click the Drop Down Arrow
5.
Choose Nokia 3110 classic USB Modem (that's my phone for my example) then click the Right Arrow from the buttom right of the OTA window
.
Click Configure the connection manually
7.
Now you can configure you Access Point:
(as for my example i use globe starter SIM)
for globe : http.globe.com.ph
for smart: internet
for sun: minternet
then leave the rest blank!
then click the check icon from the buttom right of the window.
8.
After that, Click Connect
A connection will now created!!!
Now your Done connecting to the internet and now you are ready to install and run some internet tweaks or tricks to do a fbt/ubt!!!
Session 2.
Checking if you really Connected to the Internet
A.
From your PC goto:
1.
START menu
2. RUN (shortcut key: windows+r)
3.
TYPE:
ping www.google.com -t
then Press Enter
B.
You will now see that you are pinging the website of google.com!
In order to know that you are connected to the internet you must have at least a response from that server see screenshot!!!
