Movie about the life of Roy Orbison - Aussie Phorums

I'm surprised that a movie of the life of the Big O has never been made. This poor bugger had no end of dramas throughout his life despite the next most beautiful voice alongside Elvis's.

Like Elvis, the big O's voice was blessed with natural talent and one could listen to it all day.

Surely a movie of the life of Roy Orbison would be better at the Box Office than that of the recent releases like "Ray" and "Walk the Line".

Don't you all agree? DAVO

Oh that was the one about selfish woman -- ^T^ http://temsworld.blogspot.com/ President Bush was receiving his daily briefing from his defence secretary, who concluded: "Three Brazilian soldiers were killed in an accident." "Oh, no!" exclaimed Bush, who held his head in his hands in a show of emotion which startled his staff.

Finally the president looked up and asked: "Just how many is a brazillion?"

And agree with your disagree. Me three. Well, Elvis was ok.

But doesn't deserve to be placed alongside Roy in the voice department. -- /^\damnfine/^\ ~ Multiculturalism: Because atheists of all cultures can live together in harmony.

I think Roy had one of the finest voices in all of pop/rock.

And how good that after his peak years in the very early 1960s, he was swept up to a second peak towards the end of his life, with The Travelling Wilburys, and the fantastic Black and White Night concert. But if a film is made, it would have to feature the real voice of the big-O, not an impersonator, which totally marred the latest biopic on Johnny Cash.

The only time a film bio has worked using someone else's voice was the Buddy Holly Story -- probably the best rock bio movie yet made.

IMHO, I quickly add ...

You're free to disagree

Deaths (hope my memory is right there) It's not quite right, wife killed in motorbike accident and 2 sons killed in fire.

The doco was on Ovation the other night again. This guy was recounting how Roy was showing him a photo of his house with waterwalls in the lounge and the guy made a crack that the walls would come in handy if there was a fire, and as it turned out the house was indeed burning down with his two boys inside as he was saying it.

Very sad. Not to mention an innacurate assessment of the walls' handy-ness. Great singer, but not sure if his persona would carry a film.

I'm waiting for the Wilburys remasters though! Rosco

Rosco Same here. As for the film, perhaps too bloody cruel for his fans to relive those events all over again.

Everytime I hear the Travelling Wilburys singing "Handle with care" I still get goose bumps when I hear Roy enter with his solo singing the verse "I'm so tired of being lonely".

Just a naturally beautiful voice that stands out from the rest. DAVO

I would love to be able to go back into time and see these artists at their prime...now that would be fantastic.
