Prounreal :: View topic - Bush-era torture memos and Abu Ghraib
Http://amfix.blogs.cnn.com/2009/04/30/bush-era-memos-vindicate-abu-ghraib-soldiers/
I forgot all about that.
The memos that were released show that at the highest levels of government, the Bush administration was instructing our soldiers to torture people and telling them how to do it within some realm that the administration felt wasn't going too far.
Yet they allowed these soldiers to go to jail for following orders?!
WTF!? Pro-military?
Well, I hope that these soldiers get their convictions overturned and get compensation from the military, and I hope even more that the administration gets nailed to the wall for betraying our military like that.

The soldiers being prosecuted should not get released or otherwise absolved of wrongdoing.
an illegal order is one that shouldn't be followed.
we applied that to nazi officers after WW2, and have applied it to our own soldiers since.

Slapping has now become "torture".
Not endless slapping, mind you, but a few slaps.
People like you are a fucking disgrace to this country.
Go grab a rifle and hump it to Palestine or the Sandbox as a private contractor.
If you believe half the bullshit that comes out of your fucking mouth, then get off this fucking forum and go kill Arabs and Muslims.

Also "torture": forced nudity.
Oh, the horror, my clothes are off.
Please stop torturing me so much, evil American torturer.

Also torture: Forcing naked male detainees to wear womens underwear.
Wow, that's like double torture.
Not only do we take clothes off as a torture, we also put them on.
American torturers have torture covered from every angle.

That is alot worse than breaking arm's on doors (tie the person with their back to the door, bending their arms over the top until they break).
I would also take their hot needle to the eye over wearing a thong.
Most people have no idea what tactics the muslims are using.
The fact people are complaining about what we are doing shows their ignornace to what is going on in the real world.
I dont know why we are so pussy and politically correct, get out the pig blood and they will cower like the cock roaches they are.
The only thing they live for is to die, take away their after life and they will cut the shit.

Yeah let's get Medieval on their ass!
Shit wait, that's what we were doing.
Keep watching Fox News and telling yourself you have a fucking clue.
GG fucking retard, you fail at life.
You know, what's funny is that I could actually torture someone such as yourself and within a few minutes you would start hurting so bad...
I think within a couple of days we would probably be "best friends" and you would feel really guilty and start confessing all your sins to me.
Then eventually your identity could be made to change to what I wanted it to be.
And you could "struggle" with other prisoners until you came to be born again.
And I would make you born again, over and over, until you became thoroughly "American" (whichever version I wanted you to be).
Then at the end you would leave feeling grateful to me, and thankful that you knew me and that I set you free.
Sounds like good shit already enh?
I mean hell, you may not give me intel that's worth a shit, but you would be a much better person and come out believing in the American dream.
You would probably even give me a call from time to time to say "Hey whatsup" if you kept in contact with other people that had been "Americanized" by me, with whom you "struggled" with.
Of course I think that would probably only happen if I gave you and them a bureaucratic US government job -one where I could check up on you guys, my "friends"-once you "got out" and away from my highly persuasive techniques.
Hell you might even fight for American ideals one day.
And then maybe I could sit back and feel good, knowing that I was spreading that good 'ole American dream...
At least I would know I was doing things the right way..
It's no good to just cast people out, gotta put 'em to good use after all that "therapy".
Don't want them to get bitter and to shift back to who they were before, I would want them to be happy instead, after all life's much brighter that way.
My guess is that with a retard like you Stockholm Syndrome would set in fairly quickly and then you would be all mine baby..

Another long emo post no one is going to read...
Nothing emo about it, that's the way confessional torture really works.
The idea of that kind of torture is to break you down and build you back up to be a useful asset.
It has nothing to do with gathering intelligence in the sense of what you "knew" before you were captured.
Of course, that's assuming that the people who are doing the torturing are doing it for motives that aren't purely vengeful and sadistic;
I.e they want to use you and treat you proper once they are done with all the torture.
If it's just vengeful sadism or if it's done without implementing a plan to use or integrate-into some society- the person afterwards, then that person merely reverts back to his or her former personality once they are no longer in captivity.

I'm loving it. Condoleza Rice is back at work at Stanford now and she's having to interface with the students and faculty.
People are slamming her for the torture memos now and she's actually having to answer questions from real people in hallways.
She tries her bullshit spin that they all tried to do in the papers and real people aren't buying it and calling bullshit to her face.
It's funny. I don't think any of these people are going to be able to integrate back into normal society because of the shit they did.
They definitely should go after the higherups.
If Bush wanted to back us out of the Geneva Conventions, he should have petitioned Congress to do so.
If he felt we needed to be able to torture people, he should have used the rubber stamp Republican congress to take care of it.
Instead, he broke the law.
You don't get to break the law in this country and walk away, period.
I'm sort of pissed that Obama said, at first, that no investigations would be made.
That's bullshit and it's protecting the office of the President.
We're a country of laws.
Bottom line. If we have a law that says you can't do something, then you can't do it.
If we choose to ignore laws for political purposes, then our laws are meaningless.
Oh, we're not going to look into the potential torture crimes committed by the previous administration because the past is the past and it's time to move forward as a nation?
Well then, we're not going to look into the potential embezzling I did yesterday because the past is the past and it's time to move forward as a nation.

The SS and Gestapo had such lists as well.
There is a reason people rarely or slowly get taken off the list, and that reason ties into the primary reason those lists get created in the first place.

"I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in anyway the social and political equality of the white and black races - that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people;
And I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality.
And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race." The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P.

Douglas at Charleston, Illinois" (September 18, 1858), pp.

Democrats charged Tuesday that the CIA has released documents about congressional briefings on harsh interrogation techniques in order to deflect attention and blame away from itself.
I think there is so much embarrassment in some quarters [of the CIA] that people are going to try to shift some of the responsibility to others thats what I think, said Sen.
Carl Levin (D-Mich.), who sat on the Senate Intelligence Committee and was briefed on interrogation techniques five times between 2006 and 2007.
Illinois Sen.
Dick Durbin, the No.
2 Democrat in the Senate, said he finds it interesting that a document detailing congressional briefings was released just as some of the groups that have been responsible for these interrogation techniques were taking the most criticism.
Asked whether the CIA was seeking political cover by releasing the documents, Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said: Sure it is.
The CIA has long been on the receiving end of harsh rebukes from Congress on intelligence failures leading up to the war in Iraq, on secret prisons abroad and on the harsh interrogation techniques used on terrorism suspects.
But with the release of records showing that it briefed members of Congress along the way, the CIA has effectively put lawmakers on the defensive.
Intelligence officials insist it wasnt intentional and have not taken responsibility for publicly releasing the documents.
Asked for comment about the Democrats charges, CIA spokesman George Little said only that the CIA understands the importance of a strong relationship with the Congress, which in our democracy, conducts oversight of secret intelligence activities.
But another U.S.
Intelligence official went further, noting that the records of the congressional briefings were prepared in response to a request from Congress.
Intelligence Committee member Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) said it appears that members of the committee or their staff were not in any way involved in [the release of the document].
It appears to come from the executive branch itself.
... I think its unbelievable.
A top congressional official who has participated in the briefings added: I think the agency wanted to get this out, quite frankly.
The 10-page document, which was prepared after an April 20 request by Rep.
Peter Hoekstra (R-Mich.), lists 40 instances in which the CIA briefed members of Congress between September 2002 and March 2009.
But they provide a vague description of the briefings, giving just enough information to fuel claims that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other top officials have long known about waterboarding and other tactics but did little to stop the techniques from being used.
END OF ARTICLE
Goddamn right the Democrats didn't really do anything to stop this shit.
Jesus Christ I guess most Americans are just going to sit around and wait until things get so bad that the government HAS to be overthrown.
I am down for a guillotine for all of the Democrats and Republicans in the Congress who where around during eight years of the Bush admin, who among you all here feel the same way?
And then once we are done we Teh Peoplez can go after CIA too.
Who wants this shit to stop?
If you do then encourage your friends to think about putting a stop to it, and their friends too and so forth.

I'm proud of the CIA for doing that.
You have Pelosi standing up there raining down shame and ridicule on the CIA for their actions all the while pretending she had no knowledge of them at the time.
The sad thing is that during that time, she was in the minority and not able to do anything about it, so tough titties there.
But she should have been straight forward here and stated that she knew of the actions at the time but was powerless to do anything.

Now that Pelosi is under the gun and maybe a few other Democrats.
I look for this whole saga to end very swiftly with a little whimper from hard core Liberals.
Now, maybe we can stop Fing wasting time and get on to serious business and stop trying to put everyone on trial for the Bush years.
