Legal. What legal recourse do I have if a reknowned dance troupe used my 9 yr.

Old daughter's picture on a mailout?

No, I did not sign a consent form and no, I wasn't recompensed for it.

And no, she is not a member.

?

I assumed she was a member.

How did they get the photo if she is not dancing with the troupe?

DId you EVER give them a photo?

UPload a photo of your child to an internet site such as flicker.

Who then owns your photo?

Or a social networking site who "owns" your photo?

If your daughter pic is online and part of a website that states they could use your images, then your out of luck...Reading the Terms of service is IMPORTANT.

Also who took the photo?

If they took it and used it, call an attorney and inquire.

If you uploaded to the Internet, make sure you check the TOS on the site you uploaded to. I am not an attorney but more info is needed.

Who took the photo, did they?

Did you? Where did they get it? http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/01/technology/01link.html?_r=1&pagewanted=print
