WHAT's PLAYING????

Haven't had a chance to get out to a movie lately.

I would like to see "Happy Feet" and the "Night at the Museum" looks good.

It has Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, and Ben Stiller.

Looks funny. Next week "Pirates 2" is out on DVD.

While I was really disapointed with it, I think I will still be buying it if it comes out under $20 (like Superman is) I just can't justify spending more on it, especially when it made like a billion dollars around the world - I can wait until it comes down in price if otherwise Mel Interact My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Invite Blocking Ignore User's Posts Report Post

Thanks for the reminder, Mel--I sooo need to pick up Pirates 2 for hubby (and moi) lol!!! I have no desire to see Night at the Museum, but likely will end up taking the oldest grandson to see it....I have always loved Robin Williams...Santa Claus 3 was good, we enjoyed,,,,but it still seemed to have lost the 'zing' the first 2 had, both hubby and I thought...and Christopher lost interest about 2/3 of the way thru and started wriggling in his seat...and that is quite unusual for him Hmmm Anything on Deck The Hall?

Wonder if that is worth seeing or not... Changes Made By: laurieluvsliason Mon, Jul 27, 2009 9:38.

Have heard bad things about Deck The Halls from critics, but no one I know has seen it yet.

Usually if the critics hate it it means it has been done before, but who cares?

Even a few laughs would be OK this time of the year. ITA on Robin William - love him.

Always have. I have never been a fan of Ben Stiller, but I find Owen Wilson amusing to watch - so we'll see.

It might be the only movie Icould drag hubby to see this year.

Although he wants to see Happy Feet too - but I promised to take Haley to that as a "girls" day treat.

I felt bad for not taking her to see Pirates 2, but I didn't think she could sit that long in the theatre, and I felt a few scenes were a bit much for her to see - so we will be getting it next week to either rent or buy and have another "girls' night sleepover".

I just saw the Family Stone, it was a cute movie, kinda sad!

I also saw The Departed last month and I absolutely loved it!

But it isn't a family movie,a nd its more of a guys' movie v/c of the language and violence, but it has a good storyline and a great batch of actors! Changes Made By: laurieluvsliason Mon, Jul 27, 2009 9:38.

Well hubby had guys night out with his brother last night---they were supposed to have dinner and go Christmas shopping for their wives---apparently they had dinner and went to see a movie--lol!

They saw 'Deck The Halls' and both said it was quite good and they really enjoyed it, however not a good movie for the grandkids.

So I guess we'll be taking the oldest grandson to see 'Happy Feet' maybe this week-end (the one about the penquins!!lo Changes Made By: laurieluvsliason Mon, Jul 27, 2009 9:41.

Ok, need some movie help here...It is tradition to watch a Christmassy movie in our family right after dinner on Christmas Eve.

Have no idea which movie to buy this year or if I should just put on an old fav like The Santa Claus, White Christmas, Wonderful Life...Open to suggestions here.

Personally, I would prefer one we have not seen before.

Anyone know of anything good out there this year??? Changes Made By: laurieluvsliason Mon, Jul 27, 2009 9:42.

You have probably already seen this one but I really like the Polar Express.

That is a great Christmas movie for kids and adults alike! Interact My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Invite Blocking Ignore User's Posts Report Post

Thanks Lynda---but we have seen it and seen it and seen it---all year long, lol!!!

That is my 3 yr old grandson's absolute fav and pretty close to fave for the 4 and 5 yr olds!

Hubby even made them special 'polar express' tickets and Aidan wants the train set for Christmas (don't know if he's getting it or not, pretty pricey)!!!

Any other suggestions? Changes Made By: laurieluvsliason Mon, Jul 27, 2009 9:43.

Not too much that I am looking forward to until May - "POTC 3" shold be coming out May long. Haven't been able to find my darling Orlando's last couple of movies on disc, so I am disapointed about that.

I wanted to buy "Kingdom of Heaven" directors' cut and no one here sold it.

And as for "Haven", not only does Blockbuster not sell it, it doesn't have it for rent either. I guess that is what sucks about a smaller city, we don't get a broad selection of independant movies and such. Just caught You, Me, and Dupree;

And Davinci Code on PPV I thought they were pretty good.

I just noticed today that "The Devil Wears Prada" and "scoop" are on too. Anyone see "scoop"??

I really do not like Woody Allen, nor do I think much of Scarlette Johansen, but it does look good, and Hugh Jackman is in it too, he is usually entertaining. What about "Night at The Museum"?

Anyone seen it? Mel Interact My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Invite Blocking Ignore User's Posts Report Post

Saw "World Trade Center".

I thought it would make me sad, but instead of sad I spent the entire movie "clenched" and nervous.

It wasn't until almost the end when I realized how my hands were clenched.

I guess it is just because you know the outcome, and you remember how many people actually died that day.

Good movie though, as things go. Also tried to watch "Miami Vice", but it had too much slang for me to follow well, especially when trying to chase kids and keep the household happy.

What I did catch and understand was Ok though.... I have to catch "Little Miss Sunshine" next....anyone seen it?

Saw "Benchwarmers" and was pleasantly surprised I laughed a few times even though it was predictable and gross sometimes.

Good for a giggle with an *

You know what lookes awesome - "Roadhogs" with John Travolta, Time Allen, etc.

That looks pretty funny.

Hey Mel---thanks for the 411...can't wait for POTC---woo hoo, a little earlier in May and that would be a great birthday present for us both!

LOL! Well. hubby and I finally got out and saw a movie tonight, we thought we deserved it after manning the moving sale all week-end, which went great, so we treated ourselves to a little dinner out and a movie.

We saw 'Wild Hogs' with Tim Allen, John Travalta, Martin Lawrence, William Macy.

But what a great movie, absolutely hilarious.

Four middle aged guys get on their biles and ride across country in a little get away and meat up with some bad dudes in a biker gang really ticking them off.

Even the violent scenes were 'tastefully' done with much humor thrown in! Absolutely recommended as a must see comedy for 2007! Interact My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Invite Blocking Ignore User's Posts Report Post

Knowing my love of all things Orlando, it is no surprise I bought the four disk "Kingdom Of Heaven" director's cut.

Sir Ridley is so cool, it is so dissapointing his vision didn't do better.

I have just finished watching all the hours of extras as well as the longer version on the movie.

Very cool behind the scenes stuff.

That stuff just fascinates me.

The movie was very different from the theatrical release (it is almosy 60 minutes longer), with so much added there is a different spin on some characters.

I can't say I enjoyed the longer one better, but it was really neat to see where Ridley Scott wanted to go with it. Only three more days until the POTC 3 trailer!!!

Mel Interact My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Invite Blocking Ignore User's Posts Report Post

No prob. Apparently the trailer will be in full release next week, so it should start popping up all over the TV.

May is going to be a very big month for movie goers, Spiderman 3, Shrek 3, and Pirates 3 all come out.

Any one seen Georgia Rule yet?

Amy feedback? Hubby and I thought we might go see it. Interact My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Invite Blocking Ignore User's Posts Report Post

Sorry, nope. I get to go t one or two movies in a year usually, and this summer is dominated by Orlando (and Johnny, but mostly Orlando, tee, hee) I keep trying to catch "Bobby" on PPV - anyone??

7 more days Saw the "Will Turner" bath sheet in stores today.

I was going to take Haley to Shrek this weekend, but she came home from school wheezing so badly I took her to the doc.

She has a bad case of bronchitis, so she is on the works, inhaler, antibiotics, codiene cough syrup (boy, would mom like to snag some of that stuff!!) So I think Shrek will have to wait a couple of weeks. Mel Interact My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Invite Blocking Ignore User's Posts Report Post
