Yahoo seeks to bridge PC with phones and TV

LAS VEGAS - Yahoo Inc., the world's largest Internet media company, is unveiling a new service that allows mobile phones and TVs to control its Web services similarly to the way computers do now.
Yahoo Go Mobile will be available in the United States in coming weeks.
Consumers buying certain Nokia 6630, 6680, 6681 and N70 devices -- all so-called Series 60 smartphones -- will receive the Yahoo Go Mobile service pre-installed.
Roughly 10 countries, including Britain, Germany, France, Singapore, India, Malaysia, the Philippines and Australia, are to follow in the first quarter, a spokeswoman said.

Motorola co-CEO to speak about upcoming cell phones using Google's Android operating system
On Thursday September 10, 2009, 6:12 am EDT
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Motorola Inc.'s co-CEO, Sanjay Jha, is expected to reveal more details Thursday about its plans to release cell phones running Google Inc.'s Android operating software -- devices the company hopes can help turn around its struggling handset division.
Jha, who is also Motorola's head of mobile devices, is scheduled to speak Thursday morning at a mobile Internet conference in San Francisco.
All the Schaumburg, Ill.-based company would say ahead of the event is that Jha will speak about its Android portfolio.
In July, Jha said that by the holiday season Motorola will be selling two Android phones through two U.S.
Carriers, as well as multiple carriers overseas.
Verizon Wireless has confirmed it will be one of the stateside carriers.
